You can get something similar for about that same price in Europe, but the problem with that model is that you need some breeze to inflate it, it's nice for the beach, but I bought one to use at home at my backyard and it's not easy to fill, even with a fan.

So many great suggestions, I don't know where to begin.

Let me be more exact about what I'm searching for. I want something to lean on while I'm sitting on the grass, rather that something to sit in; a little back support, that's all.
1980s style bean bags were great: very unstructured and squashy. All the ones I've seen recently have been shaped in some way.
I'm fine at getting up and down, but it's been a few years since I did any yoga, so my muscles have stiffened up.

My three cats and the ever-growing brambles (I'm letting them survived till I've scoffed all the berries) would puncture an inflatable, and I'm too lazy to bother inflating it. The cats are likely to purloin any new bean bag anyway, just part of living with moggies - as long as they don't mind me leaning against them!

The benefit of the old style bean bag was that they would stay in the same place when leaned against, just nicely moulding to the body. Cushions and pillows often get pushed backwards unless there is something like a wall or bedhead to stop them from doing this.

Have you tried thrift shops? Oxfam I think in England? Second hand stores with used furniture?

Yes, the bullring is still here, it now looks like a space ship from the outside!

Jumble shops might have them, but I would have to look round a lot of charity shops to find a bean bag. I tend to do most of my shopping online these days.

Maybe try looking at children's bean bags. They're smaller, but less structured. And if you only want to lean against it (not sit in it) should be okay size-wise.

Library Addict: I found this, which is very pretty and tempting. If I cover it with a cat friendly throw in the winter this could double as a cat bed.

For reading in the garden, personally I find a deck chair to be the most comfortable option. I find it more comfortable to read sitting than lying down.
