Here are a few more reasons to abandon paper books and we easily make the parallel between large unvented dusty musty libraries and the portal to Dante Alighieri's hell.

Note the phrase "Such characters in colour dim I mark'd." Perhaps a reference to the idea of color E-ink even so long ago. Prophetic vision maybe?

Thanks for the heads up. I will continue to buy and read my books but will start doing so while using a rebreather.

I see a business opportunity here: enter the Formaldehyde Spray, for those who have gone digital but miss the symptoms of poisoning.

Now that has me curious, old books or new books. Pretty sure, most of my books have long since gassed themselves out. Also wonder if part of it wasn't the shelves too.

I haven't found a silverfish in a book in a long time.

Sad the suggestion was to get rid of books. I would love to have 10k books all over the place, piles on the floor, etc. Somehow, having 10k in Calibre isn't as eccentric.

This is pretty silly. As long as your place is well ventilated, you should not suffer from that. It's the case of the new place where I live now, so I can keep my books.
