Amazon's Pime day is silly. They make you have to look for what's on sale and when it's on sale. Amazon makes you do way too much work. Amazon needs to jus;t list everything on sale and let it be on sale all day. Make it easy to find what you want. Stop making it so difficult.

I just used my Echo to buy two TP link smart plugs for $39.98, less $15.99 from the Echo less $20.00 because of the Dash wand... final price $3.99 (before tax). I think I'm a smart plug addict.

I got the Dot with the Alexa voice promo (for my sister), an excellent deal. But otherwise, I've only picked up some fake Nespresso pods.

OTOH though, Best Buy and Walmart sometimes compete with deals that are actually worthwhile... Edit> Oops - I have to eat my words - I bought the Seagate 8TB "Hub" USB drive for $161 - not a sensational deal but better than I expected to find, unless they're discontinuing it or something... Here's another annoyance. I have 70-some items in my Amazon cart as "save for later." Quite by accident, I discovered that a couple of them were Prime Day deals--30 percent off. But you only see that on the product page, or if you move the item to the cart and start the checkout. It's silly. I had to waste time clicking on each product page to see if the item was a deal. Why not tell me that upfront? These are items I was already considering and often waiting for price drops before purchasing--so why not tell me which ones were deals and give me the extra impetus to buy them? |

I don't see anything below the buy button. I looked at a book sold by Amazon and one from a big publisher. I don't trust Amazon to give me the credit and I won't buy any without a discount. What book did you see the credit amount for?

So it might be worth actually clicking through on saved and/or wish list items to see if there are discounts today.

EDIT: Of course with Amazon they're always A/B testing their website so sometimes not everyone sees the page exactly the same.

So the credit amount you are seeing is the 40% credit you already received for a different book. I thought you were saying that it showed the 40% credit you would get.

Credits like this can usually be used on any book.

Is 16gb enough for a smartphone these days? Or should I go for 32gb? I'm looking at a Moto E4 (16gb, standard version, gold case which I love, $130), or a Moto G5 Plus (32gb, Amazon lockscreen and ads, boring gray case, preloaded Amazon apps that would eat up some of the extra space, $155). I want the Moto E (I have a 1st gen now and want to stay with this line), but am I being stupid to be dazzled by the gold case and the absence of Amazon's ads? I do want to stay with the Moto line. The E is at its usual price; the G is a deal price. Specs seem roughly the same. Anyone want to weigh in? Last edited by Catlady; 07-11-2017 at 02:55 PM. |
