Since you can have two documents on the screen I would think you could easily do note in the second screen even if it were a blank PDF.

The help manual talks about a note template that can be modified if needed. These templates are likely for the purpose of taking notes since they are called note templates. They are PDF's to be used as I described above in dual document mode. See http://helpguide.sony.net/dpt/rp1/v1...001178312.html

As far as I know, It's "fgdas" who is mistaken and has repeatedly spread wrong information about the DPT-S1 in the past (and others, iirc). See a few pages back where he has already made that claim w/o sources despite evidence to the contrary. Better don't take his/her word for anything.

I just called B&H. They haven't received any shipment from Sony. They said to check back in one week. They have the cases in stock though. I wanted it for this weekend. Aaaagh.

From B&H "Unfortunately, Sony has pushed back the date on the ETA for this product. We do not have a date now for this product. If you want, you can sign up on the product page for a product alert or you can sign up for a product alert on the product page."

Hi and thanks to everyone for their comments,

I am afraid that side notes will only permit handwritten note as shown in many videos.

Since it is a professional tool I was first expecting SONY had develop a product that would foster process optimization (not having to type a handwritten correction for instance) and quality improvement (limiting misreading handwritten note).

I am not saying handwritten notes have no interest. I will be using those also.

If anybody has other specific clues or proof about this feature, I am quite eager to know
