I do most of my Prime video and Netflix watching on my laptop, which is connected by wire to my router, but I do a lot of it also on tablets via Wifi. It works just fine for me. My connection is 12mbs nominally and usually I don't have latency issues. There have been a couple of times when I had to switch to my laptop due to latency.

I'm using a fairly old (4 or 5 years) router. It's a good one, or was in it's day. It does have dual channel but no AC. Only a few of my tablets are dual channel.

Actually when products are listed as HD that usually does mean 720p and when they're listed as full HD they're 1080p. I do agree that that's a slightly out of date standard but it's a marketing thing, not a real tech standard, and marketers are required to lie.

I think these terms originated with the early flat screen TV's which were sold as HD and were 720p. The next generation were 1080p and were sold as full HD. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

By the way you can validate this, if you like, in any number of ways: a google search, browse Amazon for HD and Full HD devices, etc. Or just ask me. I'll be glad to tell you.

I believe in the U.S., in order for a TV to be advertised/sold as HD, it must be a minimum of 720. For example 1020x720 could be advertised as HD, but 1020x680 couldn't. Or something like that.

HDTV in the US refers to the 720p and 1080i/p formats of the ATSC DTV standards. It's the ATSC's standard, their term, and their definition.

I know there is a vocal bunch who chooses to reject our reality and substitute their own. I remember "If it ain't a million pixels, it ain't High Def" being a rallying cry for a while.

That rings a bell. In order for a display/TV/monitor to be called/sold as an "HDTV" it need to have a built in ATSC DTV signal decoder and the resolution of the display need to be at least 720p. If it didn't have a built in decoder, it would be labeled "HD Ready".

Some ISPs throttle video streaming unfortunately.

Don't have Facebook on this tablet so can you please tell us what buy/sell you are talking about?

Oh and the original article you linked specifically said that Amazon and Walmart will be able to do online SNAP starting next year.
