Just curious, is there any word about an updated Echo coming out? Seems it's due for an upgrade.

Does anybody know if the Dash Wand does timers? From what I can tell, it does everything other Alexa devices can do (except play music), but it didn't show timers in the commercial.

Regarding the music exclusion, what are the limitations? No streaming at all?

I know the Dash Wand is new so people likely don't know, but I figured I'd try. I ordered one because it's pretty much free and comes with the Amazon Fresh trial so I'll be able to answer my own questions on the 18th.

Were you able to register it to your Prime account? and if so, did you get your $20 credit?

I had not even heard of it until you asked! Here is a link for those who are interested in the Dash Wand. Looks like a cool little device. Judging from the video they have of it, it seems to have similar function of a Dot, but as you mentioned, no music capability, plus it can scan bar codes. For $20 this could be a good Dot alternative for those who don't need the music capability.

Can't find any info on timer support, but I would think it should since it's a kitchen device.

If music is out, I bet audiobooks are also out. Too bad.

It looks like yet another niche market device, but at least this one is really affordable. It seems aimed at those who purchase groceries and related items from Amazon. For that price I'm not surprised they prevented music as it might cut into Dot sales otherwise. If it did do music it would be like a Dot you could carry in your pocket.

I was wondering about batteries for it, Question & answers said "2 AAA batteries", but didn't say how long they last.

I ordered one with 1 click. I have an outstanding order open for something else so they'll proly combine orders to save shipping.

It doesn't appear to be able to control smart home devices either. Basically its a Dash button on steroids. Another tool to push commerce. A super portable Dot would be cool, but this thing doesn't appeal to me. Probably good for those who buy a lot of groceries through Amazon though.
