I use Prime Video and watch it on the television. What I like about it is that I can add any film or series to my Watchlist that is available for streaming even if not licensed to be free with Prime. With Netflix, they only have the content they've licensed. The difference is that with Amazon, whenever the mood strikes I can then just pay to watch something streamable that's not on Prime directly from my list, and it's also great when I look at my Watchlist and find something that wasn't Prime has become so.
I pay for Prime myself yearly but also have access to Netflix through someone else's account. I don't watch much anyway but I find that when I do I go to Prime Video first now and Netflix only if it's not free on Prime but is on Netflix. This does remind me that I need to finally watch that final series of Downton Abbey (which is free on Prime and patiently sitting on my Watchlist). |

I don't have a car. If I had one I'd have to pay insurance and car payments and I'd be broke. Without a car my Social Security is more than I need to live on with my HUD subsidy. The internet costs about as much as satellite TV, maybe a little less, and my phone bill is paid for by the government. So here I am, well below the poverty level, fully eligible for SNAP, and living in reasonable comfort as long as nothing goes wrong. I don't see this as a problem. I worked very hard all my life. I paid my taxes and paid a lot into the SS system since I made a very good living. I feel like I've earned the help that I'm getting. It's our system and it's working. I helped pay for it and now I'm benefitting from it. I have a strange situation here since my SS payments are higher than most of my neighbors. They're mostly convinced that I have some kind of hidden wealth. I don't. I do have a couple of neighbors who make more than I do but they're not as good as I seem to be at economizing so they're always broke. Nobody thinks they have hidden wealth. ![]() Barry |

We don't make much more than Blossom. Maybe less, depending on her husband's job.
Our bills are higher than hers. This is including all the once a year expenses. Property taxes and car tags. Oh and in January, I cut the bills by $70. But like Barryem, we don't need food stamps and yes people think we make more than we do. Ok, I am still under my budget for utilities. Now if only the gas bill will come in so I can pay it. |

Once Amazon offers nationwide home delivery of groceries, expect them to waive delivery fees on all purchases that are delivered when any item paid via SNAP is delivered. jonathon |

The article I read, which is not the one that triggered this specific thread, said that both Amazon, and the state agency in charge of administering SNAP, were very pleased with how successful Amazon's experiment in accepting SNAP was.

The article i linked earlier said the snap-eligible food delivery pilot was supposed to start this summer...right around now. I bet anyone who cares can type words like "snap", "accept" and "amazon" into a search engine, and learn the details pretty easily.

Either way, there are plenty of SNAP eligible foods at Amazon. I know I looked last night. |

I had a feeling it was too technical. One no paper or phone is allowed on the floor so you can't write anything down. You have to multitask like five different programs none labeled as what they are and they use a search engine of all things to find what the customer is asking for. So you need a very good memory and be able to do this why talking to your customer on the other end not to cancel their service. Calls can't be more than 14 minutes.
