There are 3 places here to get Free Food. You must had SNAP to get the food. They give you a Punch card & you only have 6 punches for the whole yr. USELESS!!
I looked at Amazon food a few months ago. The Only food is Junk Which you Not allowed to buy on SNAP. So what does Amazon Sell that you Can use SNAP to buy ...not a thing. So I don't understand the point in this at all.....???? |

You misread the article. They are not accepting SNAP. They are giving SNAP card holders a discount on Prime. If you have SNAP, you can get Prime for $6 plus tax a month. On a month to month basis. Now next year, Amazon will accept SNAP. |

Katie,
I am pretty sure when they can accept SNAP they will have foods you can buy with SNAP. Let me look at something. Hey Katie, You might want to look at the groceries again. I see fruit cups and Manwich and beans. That was just in the best sellers. I went to grocery and gourmet foods. What couldn't you buy with SNAP? |

I don't get food stamps or SNAP but a number of people here do and they've made presentations here a few times that let me know I'm eligible for it. I don't get it because I don't need it. I have Prime and pay full price for it. I signed up for Prime shortly after it became available, long before it included videos and books, etc. and was just about free shipping. It's saved me a lot of money. I don't know enough about SNAP to know if they offer things on Prime that can be bought with SNAP but I'm not sure that's the point. I heard about this yesterday and I told a couple of my neighbors who are in the SNAP program and they're considering it for themselves. I suspect some of the others will be interested as well when they hear about it. I'm not sure I want to sign up for SNAP just to get a Prime discount but I have to admit that crossed my mind. ![]() All you rich folks have distorted ideas about poverty. It's wonderful. ![]() Barry |

I know. The cost of food is getting ridiculous. We shop at Save a Lot for meat they have a deal that is 5 packs for $20. We get our sides when local stores have the buy 10 for $1 each. You never have to buy 10 to get the price. In order to survive you have to shop the sales.

Anyway I get 350 minutes a month, or some such. While I had the flip phone that rolled over and I've accumulated several thousand minutes. I don't bother anymore to keep track of that. Last time I looked there were over 8,000 minutes. I think I lost about half of those when I switched plans. Now with the current plan there's no roll-over but I still have all my old rolled over minutes and since I never use my monthly minutes up I've never eaten into them. I have no idea how many texts I get a month but I've never sent or received more than 15 or 20 so it's not a concern. Last time I looked I've accumulated 5gb data although I'm not quite sure how. That keeps increasing so maybe data does roll over still. I have Wifi at home so most of the time I don't care. I make full use of my phone, sometimes as a GPS and sometimes to check email when I'm away from Wifi or to look up news stories, etc. It cost me the price of the phone and that's all. And any phone that's AT&T compatible and unlocked will work. I think they also have Verizon support if I used my Verizon Moto E2, although I've never used that as a phone. I bought it on sale new from Amazon for, I think, about $35. Barry |

I don't own a TV and haven't for over a decade. In fact for most of my life I haven't owned a TV. I have Netflix. I have Amazon Prime Videos. I have Youtube. When would I ever had time to watch TV? ![]() All but one of my neighbors does own TV and we're in a rural area with no cable network available so that means either DISH or Direct. Most of my neighbors are paying considerably more for their satellite TV than I am for my internet and Netflix and Prime combined. And most make a lot less in Social Security than I do. Some make a lot less than half what I make and still have satellite TV. And a couple of them rent their TV sets at outrageous prices. A lot of people don't realize just how expensive poverty can be. ![]() Barry |
