So use the KUAL menu.

The search bar command was only intended for the 8th generation devices (where MrPI must be installed prior to KUAL, everything else the order is KUAL and then MrPI).

I am pretty using it. But when i get Kindle fw updates everything is gone off and i will need to put in KUAL azw2 to call mrpi which seems frustrating thats why i posted on this. KUAL Booklet portceases to work after a Kindle fw update. I found that ;log mrpi will call mrpi but that never seemed to work on my device. Installation of hotfix too failed
So I needed some experts help on this issue

You must reinstall Mrpi and KUAL after every update.

Sure i update i.e. reinsall KUAL Booklet but installing that requires someting else like this search bar command to trigger mrpi. Nobody evr mentioned about reinstalling MrPI. I dont understand since it not a *.bin hack . Do I need to reinstll everytime??

But I have some folder extension backs like KOReader, Showtime and many others. It is just that the script stops of configuration is just reset. Upon reconfiguration everything works absolutely fine sir. It is only the *.bin backs that need reinstallation! MrpI is working absolutely fine from KUAL. It is this ;log mrpi that doesn't work ever.

You have a PW-2, use the document version of KUAL, do not use the booklet version.
The document version does not require MrPI to install, only an archive tool.
You found that the search bar command does not work on your device, so stop demanding to use it. Use the KUAL menu instead.

That's why I asked. Amazon's description isn't different in any way compared to 5.8.9. Also the sub-sub version digit ".2" shows that this seems to be a bugfix release only - but one of Amazon's "fixes" containes therein could (deliberately!) break the jb survival.

So thanks @hius07 for confiming that a jb survives this update.
