My firmware is unpatched (device has never been patched on any firmware version). In fact it's a second install, this time on a newly factory reset device, and the SD problem has been both times. My books are all kepub's converted from ePub's on the fly while being loaded from Calibre.

Sideloaded 4.4.9298 on to my upatched Touch N905C...same story.
Content stored on the Sandisk 4 GB SD card not showing in My Books. I tried moving one from the folder to the root of the SD card, it's just not processing the content. Books stored in the device memory show up ok.
Also noticed that when I power on, the wi-fi, battery and sync icons in the top right position seem to scroll horizontally left a few pixels before settling into position.
Darn it...factory reset

I have been playing with this for a couple of hours without luck. There are so many variables that I am having trouble narrowing things down. I did a factory reset, the reader updated itself to firmware 4.3.8966, and all was fine. The SD card showed up in Device Information and I could see and open my books with no problem. I then upgraded to 4.4.9298, and immediately went to Device Information to see if the SD card was there. Nope. All I saw was Onboard Storage--no SD card. Wi-Fi on or off didn't matter.

I decided to load a book into main memory, just so I could read SOMETHING until the SD card issue is fixed, but discovered another issue (possibly with sideloaded kepubs only?) where the page number stays at 1 and the time to end of chapter stays at 0 seconds. That was annoying enough that I gave up and downgraded back to 4.3.8966, where everything is working as it should. I can read books on the SD card, the page numbers increment correctly, and time to end of chapter is a reasonable number.

I give up.

On a lark I tried a different SD card I had, my H2O saw that card. The only difference I can see is that the card it saw was 8gb, the card it couldn't see was 32gb. I tried reformatting the 32gb card but that didn't resolve the issue. Both are in fat 32.

I had a new, unopened SD card, so I replaced the old one with the new one, but no luck. Both SD cards were 32gb SanDisks, class 10.

Thank you. I gave it a shot and I can confirm for others who have doubts.
Everything works fine on my H2O. I can read books on 8 gig class 10 SanDisk card.

I have just updated my Mini to 4.4.9298, and all is running smoothly.

I know that the Mini has not been officially supported by firmware upgrades for some time now (since 3.19.5761, 31 December 2015!), but I have not had a problem so far.

Just updated.
I really miss the Home button top, and the return arrow bottom left. The series sort in the book list is in fact a title list. As said elsewhere, problems with the Authors list.
Calling Collections seems quicker (though the glaring spelling mistake - French - is grating).
I dislike the Home page, but if this version is more reactive, I'll make do - I spend much more time reading than on the home page. I hope Kobo Utilities or patches find a way to dismiss the bottom two tiles though, but I fear Kobo has seen to making it impossible.

My Aura H2O isn't showing books from the micro SD storage.

- Using my original card (32GB Sandisk), the device didn't register having any extra storage at all.

- With a replacement card (also 32GB Sandisk), the device registers having the extra storage, which I can see in the "device information". But still no books.

I had exactly the same issue. No books in the SD card detected. Reverted to previous 4.3 firmware and all is as before.

THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE from my point of view.

Mine is a Scandisk 32GB card. Maybe the problem is with HC cards.

When I sort the Authors in My Books by sort: Number of books, is show first the authors with the least number of books.
Is it supposed to be like that, isn't is supposed to show the authors with the most number of books?

I do not believe it is a problem with HC cards. 8gb card (which is HC) is working fine in my H2O after the update
