I recently saw a clip on YouTube from an American stand-up comedienne who explained the difference between doing crafts and having crafts. I often belong to the latter and not the former, I'm afraid. Plus, I don't count using my electronic plotter to cut as crafts. I buy the file, select the paper, maybe resize the cutting file, load the paper, let the machine cut it and put the thing together. When I cut a card I often feel guilty because I don't make the card myself.

Last year I got a message from a cousin asking me where I bought my Christmas cards, because she loved them but couldn't find a brand name. I think of it as a complement. That someone can mistake a card I quickly made (if you have to make 50 cards you're not going to make complicated cards) for one professionally made.

I just cut my hair. It felt like five pounds of weight off my head. The relief is amazing.

I've been suffering from frequent migraines again something that seems to happen when my hair gets too long.

I try to do it twice a year. Hubby and I argued about it last week but it's my head and I refuse to suffer in the name of vanity. It's now shoulder length. The migraine almost immediately went away as soon as I snipped it off.

I always wear my hair in a pony tail anyway. However now I can wear it loose without it looking like it exploded and my head feel so light.

I feel like me again.

Normally I make a card for special occasions, like Mother's Day. But I wasn't in the mood to do so this week. So I just made a paper succulent. I wasn't paying attention when loading the cut file, though. I did notice I could easily cut two from a 12"x12" cardstock, so I did and they turned out very small. But so cute. I have the whole series, about 6 or 7 succulents and pots, so if I have time on Sunday I'll have to make the others, too.

My mom would never let me forget I didn't get her a mother's day card. I have to have a reminder on my phone a week in advance. 😂

That's really nice. That would never fly with my mom, though. Need a store bought job. It's okay though. She's sending me a gift card for my birthday which was Wednesday. Little late but appreciated just the same.

Mom gets a Hallmark card every year. When you care to send the very best....yes I grew up during that marketing slogan. Everyone in my family flips the card over before reading it. If it isn't Hallmark you get a frown even if it's a beautiful card.

I one year took a Hallmark logo and tape it over the cheap brand name. We all chuckled on that.

Last year my uncle tried to make fun of me because I didn't make personalized Christmas cards. Since I make over 50 cards I select 3 or 4 designs that aren't too time consuming to make. Plus, for a couple of good friends I do make personalized cards. Anyway, I shamed him back, be remarking that at least I take the effort to make cards, he selects a Christmas card off a card website, adds his and my aunt's name to the pre-selected message, uploads his contacts and has the cards printed and send by the website.

Hallmark, isn't big here in the Netherlands. In fact, you can find less and less cards in shops that sell them. Most people I know don't even bother sending a card anymore, they congratulate each other on Facebook, when they see the reminder. If they send a card, they often use a card website (some offer the option of adding flowers, chocolates or balloons to the card).

I'm making shopping lists for my vacation. Today I'm going to the market, tomorrow (or Monday, depending on the weather) I'm going to the Lidl for fruit, vegetables and cheese and on Monday I have to pick up my order from the butcher's and maybe go the the nearby supermarket if the Lidl didn't have everything on my list.

I'm watching the Eurovision Song Contest.

Expecting the normal humiliating result for the UK. Possibly even worse than has become the norm thanks to Brexit.
