Okay, I didn't have to go very far with the first one. The category was "salads and appetizers." Just a very quick and short look showed tomatoes (categorized as a fruit by the experts, but definitely not meat) and asparagus.

Now a look at the second one . . . .

Oh, I'm so sorry, but that one doesn't qualify, either. I thought that we might have a winner there, since it's about parts of animals that others throw away, but they make recipes with them. And, you know what recipes have: they have vegetables and fruits.

Just from the first recipe: lemon, parsley, thyme, pepper, carrots, onions, parsnip . . . and I may have missed some!

But, they will be a consolation prize to both of you, as soon as I can think of one! Better luck next time!

Now, I happen to like Larry the Cable Guy.

I'm not saying that I think that he has sophisticated humor--it's far from it. He told the absolute grossest joke that I have ever heard, literally the absolute grossest, one time on a daytime TV documentary that he hosted. It was not really vulgar, it was just gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. Maybe it passed the network censors, because they didn't get the joke, but I got it. In that sense, it was sophisticated humor--it may have gone over the heads of most everyone. I probably got it because I am so low-brow.

Sad, actually. Bill is justly famous for using that phrase as a response to, how can I say this, questions that weren't really thought out.

The one I liked best was when Bill had had a bad experience in a small plane but it had finally landed. “I called my wife up on the cell phone and said baby you ain't gonna believe this, we just hit a deer with the airplane. and there was a silence on the other end of the line followed by.. OH MY GOD.! were you on the ground? I said nope, santa was makin one last run.. Here's your sign”

I usually don't think of it myself, but one time in my life I did. I was at the drugstore in a supermarket to fill a prescription and get some twinkies. I handed the prescription to the lady there, and she said "Do you want this filled?" I said "No, I just want you to read it, and hand it back. Here's your sign"

Of course, I've heard the expression. Just thought that it was one of the gazillions whose origin was unknown (like you'd see in UrbanDictionary.com).

I'd like to know who came up with, "talk to the hand." I know that it was in an old Swartzenegger movie, but I don't know if that's where it originated.
