I like the thinness, so that is not fuggly. However, what is with all that whitespace around the screen? Come on now, definately fuggly. |

I love the look of my Kindle, but I do think 2 is pretty. I laughed when one of the tech websites said the Kindle looked "80s" - I used to have a car phone that my friend lovingly referred to as my "seventies disco phone". K2 does look more like the iPod, for what that's worth - which is probably a lot to Amazon. |

I rather liked the wedginess of the old Kindle, but the new one isn't bad, despite the iPod-ish look

I never thought either device was fugly. Kindle 1 is what I'd call distinctive looking, but isn't that a good thing? You definitely aren't going to mistake it for anything other than what it is. Kindle 2 has got the whole rounded thing going - but you're still not going to mistake it for anything else.

It reminds me of dollar store fake electronics from the 80's - toys made to look like electronics but out of a cheap flimsy plastic that broke almost as soon as you took them out of the bag. Obviously the design does nothing for me.

I still dont understand why an electronic reading device needs a keyboard. It looks just as naff as the first Kindle.

Personally I'm not crazy about the Kindle's looks but it's the functionality of it that makes me want to purchase it. |
