The important thing is to try to replicate the problem and report it if it still occurs. That will let them know that it is a software problem instead of hardware. Then you will be one step closer to actually getting it fixed.

This "missing text" problem may be the same as I have seen on occasion. If I continue reading a few lines before backing up a page, I find the text wasn't really missing - there was just a large gap between portions of text and the gap disappears when I back up a page or two then go forward again.

The post you made :
1) Did not include that information
2) Was written to read as if Amazon offered to exchange it.

The answer to your original question:
Nobody here has a working crystal ball.
This is a rare problem, cause unknown, unable to tell what would fix it.

I have asked if anyone has a book/document that displays this problem well and is something that could be shared among people willing to test it.
So far, zero response.

I get that text issue as well. I have never seen it before until i got the Oasis. Never had it happen with any of the Paperwhites or Voyage. I sometimes think I am finishing a chapter because the text ends in the middle of a page. But when i turn the page it is clear that this is not the case. I hit page back and the text shows that previously did not display. I would categorize it as an annoyance rather than a killer bug. I don't like it but I can live with it. The only book I have noticed it happening on is a Kindle Unlimited book rather than a book I own. Not sure if that or the latest firmware is the cause. If I find out anything more I will post back.

Do you mind saying which Kindle Unlimited book it is?

Or go to the product page and scroll down to the product details and check "Enhanced Typesetting" and let us know if it says "Enabled" or "Not Enabled"?

I am convinced it's a software bug related to caching. However, I am not an expert as far as hardware or software goes.

Also, the replacement units may have other defects that you can not tolerate. I think it's refurbished not new.
