Has anyone requested an invite for the Look?

Why not? I see this as an ideal way to take a pic of your plumber's crack and have it sent to your phone. At last, you won't have to risk breaking your spine to see what's down there!

I too think worrying about Echos and Dots and their microphones is a bit over the top, but the Look is another story. I have security cameras inside and outside of my house, but none of them are connected to Bezos servers. And none of my security cameras send their images to any cloud. They record images to SD-cards. I haven't checked the details on the Look, but I bet it sends all those images/video to the Amazon cloud. Maybe Bezos is going to wait a year then introduce Amazon Prime Extortion accounts! "We know what you did, but for $29.99/mo we will keep quiet."

This thing would be a lot less weird if it were being marketed as a home security device or a nanny cam. Then there's a trade-off of privacy for security that might be acceptable, depending on one's circumstances. But something to help you get dressed and take selfies? Seriously?

Perhaps we could ask the programmers to get it to detect that ridiculous pout girls do when they take selfies and remind them how stupid they look

LOL! I think teenage girls are probably the main marketing target for the Look. If they can hook the Look up to Twitter or Instagram they will be happy campers, so to speak.

There is no way I would let a teenager have one of these things. They don't use good judgment at the best of times. Probably no one under the age of 21 should be allowed to have one of these--and a lot of people over 21 should not either

I always used good judgment. If someone could be hurt by my actions, I didn't do it. Most of the time.

So ... those new brand and style recommendations--will they possibly just happen to be merchandise Amazon sells?

I think that is a given. The Look is designed to sell clothes and things to people. Question is, who will see those candid videos and photos. Will clothing manufacturers be given a peek, or just Jeff?
