I generally sleep during the day. After working the night shift for over 30 years, it's hard for me to revert back to being a day person; unless I have something to do that requires me to be awake all day.

Hmmm . . . . interesting. I didn't know that sleep patterns could be "burned into" your brain like that.

But, I've thought of a solution (I know you're cringing about now). Move to say . . . Kazakhstan, Iran, or somewhere in that area. It will be daytime on the west coast of the U.S., but nighttime there! You'll want to sleep during the night and be awake in the daytime!

Being the humble guy that I am, you're free to pass along that brilliant suggestion to others, without giving credit to me.

Confused yet? Not surprising. Okay, here's the details (I found it here). Did you know that a week from Saturday (April 29 for the calendar-challenged) is the third annual Independent Bookstore Day? While you might not normally go to your local bookstore for audiobook downloads, book stores would like to change that by partnering with Libro.fm. They style themselves as an audiobook store for independent book stores. This year participating book stores will have cards that will give you access to free downloads from Libro.fm. I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure your local shop is participating. The titles being offered are:

• A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, by David Foster Wallace (Hachette Audio)

Well, it's midnight somewhere, and the freebies have begun. It turns out you don't have to visit the bookstore to get a download code (at least for most of them). The books can be found on a curated list here. All of the titles are currently showing free, except for "The Women in the Castle." Hopefully they will correct this one some time soon.

Thanks, that's welcome news because I had no intention of visiting any local bookstores.

I set up a free account (email, full name, birth year, gender, zip code) and download the six books that were free. Then I downloaded the app to my Android phone and the books were in my library. I then downloaded a book to my Chromebook and my phone. It played on both devices without a hitch.

This was a very easy process. Kudos to Libro.fm.
