I already do that on my laptop, phones, and tablets. My desktop doesn't have a webcam.

I have absolutely no desire to get one. My Echo doesn't need a camera.

Same here. I also use duckduckgo for search, and uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and Https Everywhere browser plugins.
I do have 2 Alexa devices and I debated getting those for a long time. But I draw the line at an always on camera. That's too "1984" for me.

Since my Dot's are always next to me, they display the red ring of silence. When I want to use them, I turn the mics on, issue a command, then turn the mics off.

LOL! If someone hacks into my Echo or Dot then I'm quite sure they will die of boredom long before they hear anything of use! I don't really see any need to own an Echo or Dot if I feel I have to keep the mics turned off.

Most of the time, I use the Dot's built-in speaker since it's next to me. When I'm playing songs on demand, the mics stay on. When the Dot isn't being used, the mics stay off.

Good point. I can turn my tap off fairly easily and the dot can be silenced quickly as well.

You know, often, I feel people's modern privacy concerns are way out of wack, and sometimes bordering on tin-foil-hat paranoia, but this Look thing is creeping me out a bit.
