help, transfer ebooks from tablet to reader

			hi, everyone

i have a question. my mother has a e-reader (kobo) and a tablet. she doesn't have a computer so in the past i put her ebooks on her reader but she wants to do it herself, is it possible (in any way) to transfer ebooks from a (android) tablet to her ereader without a computer? she doesn't like to read them on her tablet any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance. |

Where is she getting the books on the tablet from and what format(s) are they in? Is DRM a factor? As Cin mentioned, do both devices have a microSD slot?

the format is EPUB, she gets them from a freind that has a large collection, DRM is not a issue, and the reader has no SD card slot, the books are transferred via USB using calibre

Can she just take the reader to her friend instead of the tablet?

On Android tablets, you can get file managers easily enough. But I've never connected my Kobo to my tablet. I'm not sure if it will be recognized as an external device. If it is, it should be easy enough to move the books with a file manager. Last edited by ZodWallop; 04-26-2017 at 01:28 PM. |

http://www.feedbooks.com/ and http://www.gutenberg.org/catalog/ has free epub books she can download directly to her Kobo using web browser that is under Settings, Beta Features. I have done this a few times when that was only way. Once from a hospital bed. Would be easier if Kobo readers could use bluetooth keyboard.

If you were to get your mom an OTG adaptor (and they are dirt cheap), she could just connect both devices with USB cable and copy the books using a file manager pretty much the same way you'd do that on a PC.

It works just fine if you have an OTG. I've done it a few times

I'm assuming these are public domain books, then. She should be able to just download them directly from Project Gutenberg with her built-in browser.
