you don't have to have less internal storage just because you have an external Micro SD card slot that would be Kobo's decision and a bad one if they did that, just because you don't want button's or a Micro SD card slot doesn't mean other people don't it cut's both ways. you are a perfect example of wanting the complete opposite to me (no surprise on here), the point i am making is extremely clear cater to all people's need's or at least try to, not just to yours and not just to mine. i want the best reading experience possible just like you and everyone else does why shouldn't i try to have it? btw. i wouldn't say the Kindle Voyage was Big and that as page sensor's on either side as i'm relatively sure you will already know. i think that just about cover's all the bases for now. Next. best wishes koboy ![]() Last edited by koboy; 04-01-2017 at 05:39 PM. |

Sorry, but expecting any company to aim for the "perfect" or even the best device (however you define that) and ignore the economics of it is never going to happen. |

in this case it as been pretty obvious to me since Kobo stopped putting the Micro SD card slot on their newer model's they are more interested in like you say (cost) rather than giving their customer's some significant new features for example adding button's. it's a shame really because unless you want the larger screen like the KA1 without the Micro SD card slot, then they should take a leaf out of Kindle's book (no pun intended) who's range of e-reader's definitely cater's to a much wider range of choice (therefore customer's) than what Kobo do, IMHO. it's not too difficult to see why Kindle e-reader's sell more than Kobo is it folks. just rehashing the same old very slightly different e-reader year in year out over and over again, IMHO is definitely not worth the money. if Kobo aren't or won't significantly evolve their new e-reader's then for me they should just stick to selling books and not bother bringing out any new model's. best wishes koboy ![]() Last edited by koboy; 04-01-2017 at 05:45 PM. |

My first Kobo reader had page turn button a horrible 5 way switch that took too much effort to turn page and cover came unglued. Kobo touch is much better. My sony reader has page turn buttons that I seldom use because poor placement and vertical or horizontal swipes for page turns work better. I like IR touch better than capacitance touch page turns because it is more reliable.

i wonder what the odds are on someone actually agreeing with me on here are, i would imagine extremely slim therefore i won't be holding my breath, surely some of you must miss the external Micro SD card slot from the newer model's? best wishes koboy ![]() Last edited by koboy; 04-01-2017 at 07:10 PM. |

What I would like to see is Kobo or Amazon make the same Reader in two models. One with page turn buttons and one without. Then we'd see which sells better. The one with the buttons would be more expensive though because of the added buttons.
I've not used the card slot of my H2O, but that doesn't mean others won't. The card slot does not get in the way at all. Buttons could maybe get in the way unless there was some way to turn them off. The buttons on the T1 did not get in the way, but then they were close to the bottom on the left side. To be honest, I don't think we'll satisfy everyone. The buttons are going to be an issue. Use normal buttons and yes, they can be accidentally pressed. Use buttons (like the Voyage) and the cost is going up even more and that's not good when the user doesn't want buttons. What I want more then a card slot or buttons is a heftier battery for more life between charges. |

i don't think a button only device for all function's would appeal to too many people although of course i could be wrong, i was specifically thinking along the same lines as something like the Kindle Voyage you mentioned but obviously by Kobo. and thank you for acknowledging that there are those that do use the external Micro SD card slot it isn't purely cosmetic. best wishes koboy ![]() Last edited by koboy; 04-01-2017 at 07:56 PM. |

The features you are asking for, external SD card, buttons (which includes redesigning the case to fit them and still be strong enough), all the other things you are wanting, will cost Kobo to add to the devices and add software to handle them. How much would you personally pay above the costs of the existing devices to have these things? |

regarding the cost of the button's i would much rather pay extra for them and a Micro SD card slot on a 6" device than pay for the KA1, as you can see it's all about choice, sadly Kobo e-reader's are very limited in that department. best wishes koboy ![]() |

the problem isn't that i can't accept that my opinion isn't in the majority although majority of who? if you mean some of the people on here then of course i'm in the minority, although IMHO to say that it is a clickish echo chamber on here would be an understatement. keep on enjoying your day's and i will do the same. best wishes koboy ![]() Last edited by koboy; 04-01-2017 at 11:53 PM. |

But, it doesn't matter what you were willing to do three or four years ago. How much NOW? For all the features you want. Yes, the Aura H2O still ha a card, but it doesn't have buttons or other things you mentioned. It's a simple question. How much extra are you willing to pay? |

Really? The Aura ONE is $350 in Australia. The Glo HD was $189. You are willing to pretty much double the price to get an external SD card and buttons. To put it mildly, I am completely stunned. And the Voyage is $294 here. I don't consider the Aura ONE to be "just a bit more" than that. And the last time I checked, prices for these devices in other countries had a similar price ratio. But, how many other people do you think are willing to pay that? Quote:
