Kindle Oasis screen too blue
Tired of the Oasis, I recently decided to get a Kobo Aura One with the warm light feature. It works really well. However, I still prefer the hardware of the Oasis. It seems impossible to get the best of two worlds.

I was thinking of maybe fastening some sort of peach colored gel sheet on top of the screen. Anyone tried something similar? Any ideas welcome on how to combat the blue light and replace it with comfy glow.

Obviously people have different ideas on what 'perfect' is, however this is a comparison where I prefer the warmer one:

If there was any way I could make the Oasis look more like the Kobo, Im definitely interested in hearing about it.

You cannot make the Oasis light look like the Aura One light. The Aura One has color LEDs that allow the lighting color to be adjusted. The only thing you can do is buy an Aura One.

You could open the Oasis and replace some of the LEDs with different ones.

Thats what MacGyver wouldve done for sure!

Sadly, I dont consider myself that savvy.

Am hoping to hear from people with experience of applying sheets on touch screens, what type of plastic to use, where to get it etc. Who knows, maybe I am the first.

That feels unnatural and awkward, and doesnt make it look as good as the Kobo.

Apparently Kapton tape does the job:

The problem with that is that its glossy. Perhaps a matte screen protector on top of it would do the trick

But thats 2 layers and might interfere with/block the touch screen.

That Osais is very blue. My suggestion is to return or exchange the Oasis.

Yeah, mine doesn't look like that either. If that looks like it shows in the picture in real life, its not normal I don't think. Can't say I have read anyone say their Oasis looks blue, but I guess each eyes are different.
Mine is a gentle white. I don't really see any color. I keep my light on a level just below where I notice there is a glow.

I have no clue about sticking something on top. I would worry about the touch screen. I'd only use something removable without any actual sticky stuff on the back. More like a film that clings. I know we used clingy colored film way back in school in crafts craft. I have no clue though what that was called. It was clinging on glass by itself, came in see through colors, was very thin. And you could just grab it and take it off. We used it as "fake" stained glass.

Are you sure it doesnt just appear more blue when compared with the warm Kobo? Maybe it is defect. That never really crossed my mind. Since it is a common complaint, I thought it was just how it was.
But that that really bugs me. How come I get a defect premium Kindle and then when I order a Kobo I get a defect one aswell? How hard could it be for these companies to have some quality standards?

Anyway, if I decide to do some MacGyver-stuff with my Kindle I will make sure to post some pics
