Cleaning so the delivery guy can get through the clutter with my new washing machine.

Someone surprised us by buying us one. It will be here this weekend. Now I need a dryer.

Also cleaning house. We have an open floorplan downstairs, so we use 2/3 of the space for working out. As such, cleaning involves taking up the foam mats, etc, and cleaning under them. The other 1/3 is for the gaming systems and PCs - different dusting problems.

With today's release of the the trailer for the film of Stephen King's It, I felt it was time for to watch the mini series again (despite having watched it last year). I've also found my dvd's of The Stand, The Shining (the mini series) and Stand by Me, so I'm feeling a theme for coming on for my tv watching the coming week.

Today, in the store it was one of those days. I was glad when we closed the store at 5.05pm (we officially close on the hour, but usually stay open 5 minutes longer). I was nearly done with the end of the day chores ten minutes later when a customer knocked on the window because he wanted to be helped. I pointed at the sign with the opening times and shrugged to show that we're closed. I wasn't feeling too bad about it; it is one of our few notorious customers that we'd rather have they never return*. When he realized that I really wasn't opening up for me he planted himself half in front of the door and half in front of the window (so I could see him), legs apart and arms crossed. Probably to show us that we wouldn't let us leave until we've helped him. So, when I was done I walked to the front of the store, waved at him and made a U-turn to go home, upstairs. When I looked back his face was turning red.

He rang the doorbell a couple of times, before he left. He obviously didn't know we live upstairs, and to be honest I'm not too sure I like it that he knows now. There are some customers who think it's okay to demand being helped outside our opening times because we live over the store. However, the look on his face cheered me up after today's crappy day.

* For instance, he knows we have "consulting hour" on Thursdays and Saturdays between 10 and 11am. When he has something for that hour he always comes when it isn't consulting hour, because he likes to sleep late. When my father refuses to help him he makes a big scene. He also has a tendency to complain to my father about me, mostly that I wear inappropriate colours of nail polish and that I should wear high heels.
