I have found a list of all the affiliates in libnickel.so. It is useful for checking for firmware, and other stuff.

I'm not sure this list is complete - it seems to be missing several European affiliates (bol, fnac, mondadori etc)?

I'm wondering if all affiliates have the same Bookstore on eReaders, or maybe some have their own bookstore? Could you please post your stock "Kobo eReader.conf" config file's [Services] and [OneStoreServices] sections? These contain the URLs for the bookstore.

I'm pretty sure all the affiliates use the same store. There might be some different resources used for images, and different books available, but the infrastructure is the same.

And it wouldn't be hard to test. Just change the affiliate. And maybe your address in your Kobo account to match. The two most likely to show a difference are FNAC and Rakuten.

So far, the main differences I have noticed are the FW versions. For rakuten, there is also pin lock on the newer firmwares and rakuten japan as the web browser homepage. For fnac (I think), there is also custom branding. I am not sure about the others.

Is 4.3.9084 being sent to anything other than rakuten? If not, it's probably fixing something specific to the Japanese market.
