You see the medium blue where Texas and New Mexico are at right angles. I am the first medium blue. Note the counties around us have less than 10 people per square miles.
So yes, I live in the boonies.

Population density of Texas altogether is only 96.3 per square mile. Pennsylvania is 283.9. I guess Pennsylvania is more populated than I thought. I used to live in New Jersey and it's 1,195.5!

I wonder if we're the most densely populated state?
Of course, NYC, which many Upstate New Yorkers think/wish was state all it's own, beats us by an order of magnitude! I assume NYC is the most densely populated city in the US?

And 7 in the top ten! I thought for sure NYC was more densely populated than any city here, even factoring in the outer boroughs!
I mean, when you build UP like they do over there, there are a lot more layers in each square mile!

I did. She only gives the info for specific places. She will not tell you which place has the highest or lowest densities.

This might be good, but hard to know without listening to some of it. If they are truly non-partisan, and truly scientific and not just self-help crap or pseudoscience crap. I like intellectual discussions. But in this country now we rarely have anything like that anymore. We have a History Channel on TV that doesn't show much true history. We have a Science Channel that is more pseudoscience and science fiction than anything. We have so-called reality shows on all those types of TV channels, especially the Learning Channel, and those are anything but real. They are highly scripted BS with plots I hate anyway. Would rather see history and science shows on those channels rather than that garbage. NPR is nice, but really boring much of the time. Zzzzzzzzz! So I might check out TED Talks. But not too optimistic. What many people call intellectual and stimulating I often call unintelligent and uninformed. Try living in Texas where innovative and intellectual thinking is considered a sin for which you will burn in hell! Yep, my state is close to the bottom of the trash heap when it comes to education. Good thing I broke the hold they have on so many and got a very high level of education and continue to educate myself through reading even in my old age. My hunger for knowledge is never quenched.

Yes TED Talks are actually what they claim to be.

My complaint channels are DIY (Do it yourself), Cooking channel and TLC (was the learning channel).. No actual how to do it yourself shows, too many contests not real cooking, and what are we supposed to be learning how to have multiple kids and what not to do during sex on the last one.

Edited to add: we are on Dish. Switched to the Flex pack. Lost Science Channel, kids and music channels and locals. Bill dropped from $114 to 61. It could have been less but we added the action pack for $10. AXS and Fox Sports 1 are worth that.

Yes, very few actual DIY projects on DIY or HGTV. The first such show is still the best, This Old House on PBS. Most of the stuff on DIY and HGTV is garbage. I like Rehab Addict with Nicole Curtis, if you can get past her munchkin like voice, but she actually shows how to restore old homes. I miss the Two Furniture Guys and the New Yankee Workshop, both of which used to be on PBS. Norm retired his New Yankee Workshop. Not sure what happened to the Two Furniture Guys, maybe they are still on local access somewhere.

As for cooking the Cooking channel sucks! The only ones I watch or old reruns from PBS, new shows from America's Test Kitchen, and a few more from PBS. I miss the Two Fat Ladies cooking show from England. It was a hoot, but the little old lady who smoked on every show died of cancer--go figure! Do you remember Justin Wilson, the Louisiana comedian and cook? I always liked his cooking show, but he died several years ago too.
