Same here, and I also managed to lock myself out... Did it once. I had just bought my first car (4 1/2 years ago), and, as it was a beautiful day, I didn't take my jacket with me which had my keys in it. If I had gone by bike, there wouldn't have been a problem as I couldn't have locked myself out. I would have had to use the keys to lock the backdoor. But, as I was going to get that car, I went outside the frontdoor. Which can only be opened from the inside, without a key. And I had locked the backdoor before leaving (through the frontdoor). Luckily, my mother-in-law was there (she had taken me to the garage where I could pick up my car). And she had a key to our house as well, so I went there. I've never had so much trouble keeping the engine running as that time... I think my engine died at every single traffic light I encountered... (while I had just driven from the garage to my house without any trouble...)

luckily, i cannot lock myself out of my appartment, as i need the key to lock the front (and only) door. however, i *can* forget my keys on the mailbox lock, and i do that once in a while. it is a VERY stupid thing to do, because one of these days it won't be a kindly and honest neighbor who will find them for me. so far, the only problem it has caused is momentary panic if i discover they are missing before whatever neighbor found them can return them to me, but it could be much worse.

I've only locked myself out once, and had to wait for the Yeti to get home (predictably, it was cold and wet and the neighbours weren't in).

And right now I'm feeling very full after day three of reacquainting myself with eating properly. Well, just actually eating, too...

It was like this yesterday after the Amazon announcement. PilotBob said that trying to do a quick welcome to all the newbies was like being a greeter at Walmart!

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEWBIES! Please join us in the llounge. I saw somewhere that Sparticus is serving appetizers and grog, but I'm not smelling any evidence of it.

Sometimes they are kept there, you know, when they aren't flying missions for Captain Biggles, but mostly it's called the llounge because their sign company won the contract to make the sign for the door. And we all know, of course, that llamas are worse spellers than even lolcats.

At this exact moment, I am taking a handful of painkillers because:

1. I purchased a new printer and moved my old printer out to the storehouse;
2. Then, I found out that one of the programs I use most often will not work with the new printer, and there are no plans (either from the software company or from the printer manufacturer) to have the two things play nice in the future;
3. So, I had to go back out to the storeroom to get the old printer; and
4. When I was setting it back up, I tripped on something (not a cat) and wrenched my lower back.

Let's see .... so far this month it's been pneumonia, visual disturbances, a flood, and now my back's done gone and thrown itself out. Do I hear an AMEN!!??

Ah, that explains it. I'll bet someone saw that fine work they did on the opening credits for "Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Llama, Llama, DUCK)."

Hey, off topic, but why is it that all the guys playing Americans on the TV these days are from Britain or Australia? It's a real shock to the system to hear these gents speaking on the talk shows.

I'll be fine. I've been in much worse pain than this. I am, however, waiting with bated breath (as opposed to baited breath, which must smell like worms) to see if it rains frogs tonight.

Quoting from the Book of the Llama:

And lo, God looked down upon the Buddhist and saw that she was unclean, and her breath smelled of the worms of the dirt;

And God said "Let there be plagues vested upon this unclean guinea pig who does not believeth in Me";

And, yea, verily the plague of coughing came upon the furry non-believer, followed by the plague of phantom lightning, and thence by the plague of the overflowing sink, and finally by the plague of the sprained back.

And, the Buddhist piggie turned her face unto the sky and said "Bring it on, big guy. Bring it on!"

And God said "You're kidding, right? You don't believe in me, so who the heck are you talking to, you looney!"

And, verily, she was taken away by some very nice people in clean white coats, and sat for the rest of her days in a little corner weaving baskets and singing softly to herself of llamas and ducks.
