No, because the big page turn buttons make it easy to operate with your nose.

Heh.

For the dogs, we definitely need a Kindle sleeve like this.

What do I really miss?

Being able to buy one, since I live outside the USA. That surely HAS to be its greatest limitation in anyone's book; the fact the 95% of people can't buy it.

I actually would have started saving to buy one if it just had folders -- folders a user could create. But I suspect the reason that feature isn't there is it isn't possible. No SD card is a big problem for me. All my life I've kept any decent pbook I read, and I do re-read them sometimes (favorite authors I reread every few years), so I want to be able to keep what I read and want it on my reader, not on Amazon, not to mention the non-Amazon books I have. I had an original Rocket Ebook and will never trust any vendor to keep books for me again. Battery that user can't replace is also a drawback. I don't want to have to send the thing to Amazon for a battery.

So Amazon has saved me some money by what it has come out with.

Yes, but what percentage of the world can't buy Cuban cigars?

Better organization is certainly possible, whether it be folders, tags, or both. Heck the Mobipocket software running on PDAs has for years supported "reading lists" which is essentially a tagging system. And an interface for navigating the folders that are already built into the OS and file system would not be all that difficult.

It just hasn't been a priority for the developers (and not just on the Kindle, but many other reading devices).

5%. Only the US is under the impression that cigars are a danger . You can, to the best of my knowledge, buy them anywhere else in the world.

See... there you go. We can't buy Cuban cigars but we can buy Kindles. So, we're even.

(BTW: It has to do with the long standing US/Cuban embargo. But I assume by your smiley you knew that.)

If by 'miss' you mean what the K1 has that the K2 doesn't, then the SD card, hands down.

If you mean 'miss' as in want but didn't get, then it would be folders or some other way to manage content.

Amazon may tout that the K2 can hold 1500 books, but without a way to manage them in folders or some other directory-type system, they may as well be stashed away with the Ark in that last scene in Raiders of the Lost...

There are no folders, but there is search.

We can buy cigars here, just not Cuban cigars. It is the dirty rotten communists that we need to punish by not buying their cigars.

As to the K2
No Folders support is a big disappointment (I really don't understand this).
No SD Card support is a backwards move.
No rubberized back is a backwards move.
No leather case is a backwards move (I like the Sony case with the light).
I really wanted a big screen version that would support PDFs.

One more thing...

I think Amazon should just go ahead and sell the K2 to international customers with the understanding that the Whispernet only works in the U.S. Amazon could then email the .azw file to the International customers and they would use their USB cable to transfer the file to the Kindle. Maybe not the perfect solution, but why turn away customers.

HOooo-kay! And if wishes were fishes, we'd never go hungry.

I think #2 will happen in time. However, I think the only way #1 will be solved will be in the same fashion as happened with eReader and Mobipocket DRM'd ebooks - someone will create a Perl or Python script to go through and "illegally" strip out the DRM. Anyone have some .tpz or .azw1 (both valid Topaz-version file extensions) ebooks they want to share out to Dark Reverser or other hackers?

Where is the choice for the blue one next to the fish?

Actually if I did have one, the rubberized backing would probably be my choice. Granted the SD card is a loss but 1500 books available at any time seems reasonable.
