Actually, the fact that it was SHORT was the only reason I was willling to try it! (Well, that and "FREE"). I read Dune, way back when, but bogged down and never finished the second book.

Both of the Herbert stories are always free at Project Gutenberg, along with "Old Rambling House" which doesn't appear to be free at Amazon at the moment.

I've read the entire series multiple times. . . lately I've been fighting the urge to re-read it again

. . . You might reconsider attempting to read the second book since it has the shortest word count of all the Dune books.

Tales from the Perilous Realm by J.R.R. Tolkien, $2.99 at Amazon USA.

This is the first time this book has been below $9.32 since it came out in 2012. It is normally between $9.99 and $12.99. I have a couple of the novellas, but not all of them, and none of the poems and I've been waiting on the price to fall for a long time...

An absolute bargain, and highly recommended by me. Farmer Giles of Ham is a great romp. Leaf by Niggle is sentimental, but not sickly. Smith of Wooton Major is a proper fairy tale.
