Been reading the forum for a while thought it was about time I got off my duff and put in my two cents. Then I realized I had misread the post and had to have second thought before I ranted and made a total fool.

Hope to keep up with the news on the reader front, and make some new contacts and friends. Am active duty Navy here and currently deployed. Kinda hard to get books for my kindle out here...

Whispernet does not seem to work on my Kindle for some obscure reason.

Must be all that water corrupting the signal. LOL...

All in good fun...

Looking for new reading material if you have any suggestions let me know. Will read just about anything that is out there. Although I do have my favorite genres. (Sci-Fi, Fantasy) but it is all good.

There is nothing better than a good book, it is a friend that will always welcome you back and entertain you no matter how long you have been apart.

Hello, manatheron, and welcome to mobileread.

Do you have internet access? You do realize how easy it is to download from Amazon.com and then Upload to your Kindle using the USB cord?

I'm assuming you have a US based credit card and mailing address tied to you account.

Also, there are thousand of free books, both here and other sites, that you don't have to pay for.

Nah it is all a connectivity issue. Can be a pain to find a web connection at times in the middle of the ocean. They have yet to take my suggestion of a spool of cable tied to shore so that we had an always on connection.

However, we do get some time and very limited bandwidth. So as I can I order books and download them. Have about 200 to go through on my Kindle so I should be set for about another month.

Hope to hear be around here for a while so have fun and read a good book.
