Excellent. Just the kind of verification that I wanted.

Next question. Is there a place on Amazon's website where you can see only Kindle Unlimited titles, and then use a filter to find books on the subject(s) that you want?

I'm sorry to make such a big deal of all of this, when after all the KU thing is free for 60 days, but I don't like hassles and I don't like having calendars to keep up with stuff with. And, I personally don't care to use Groupon. I need a personal valet.

lol not a big deal

https://amazon.com/kindle-dbs/fd/kus...f_=sv_kstore_1

click on a genre you are interested in and it will show you more books. For some books you might even be able to get free audio. If Amazon had all publishers in this I would be more open to paying monthly for it. Other than the free promotion I get I do not pay. It mainly has self-published books and books published by Amazons publishing house. I can't remember all the different companies but some are quite good.

Thanks. I'll explore that webpage.

Yeah, I never have been very impressed with the Kindle Unlimited selection of books, what little that I've paid attention. Invariably, a book that I might be interested in wasn't a KU book.

When I had Prime, I never thought that the documentaries (about all that I watch) were of all that good a quality. I don't want to use the word "junk," but I do think that the free stuff was not worth much. It seemed like it was improving some, though, by the time that I let my membership go.

Of course, if you have movies, music, everything else of top quality, the service is going to be so expensive that few people would pay for it. I guess that Amazon tries to strike the right balance of quality and cost to them, that will cause them to make the most money.

You can go to the regular Kindle eBooks section of the site and browse to whatever genre you want and then just check the box on the left side of the page that says "Kindle Unlimited Eligible".

This link for example will show you all 641,273 eligible books in the non-fiction category which can then be narrowed down by selecting from various categories on the left side of the page...

The Gospel Call and True Conversion: Recovering the Gospel

The apostle Paul gave the gospel the first place in his preaching, endeavored with all his might to proclaim it clearly, and even went so far as to pronounce a curse upon all those who would pervert its truth. Yet how sad it is that many, even among those considering themselves evangelicals, have reduced the gospel message to a few trite statements to be repeated, and view conversion as a mere human decision. In The Gospel Call and True Conversion, Paul Washer challenges such easy believism as he examines the real meaning of things like faith, repentance, and receiving Christ. He also deals extensively with the effects of saving grace that God promises in the new covenant; namely, the creation of new hearts and new people.

FREE -- Timeless Tales of Beatrix Potter -- Beatrix Potter/ K Kellgren --> 3.5 hrs --> children

Quote:
Timeless Tales of Beatrix Potter: Peter Rabbit and Friends (21 stories)

Beatrix Potter's amazing universe of animals dressed in human clothing has taught and entertained children for over a century. This volume brings together twenty-one of Potter's tales and verses in one book. Hear Peter Rabbit outwit old Mr. McGregor, and Squirrel Nutkin come within a tail's length of being an owl's dinner. Listen as a family of mice save the kind tailor of Gloucester, and as Peter and Benjamin Bunny battle a barn cat. Learn how one fierce rabbit is set on the road to honesty. Although each story stands on its own, several are linked together by events and characters.
Note: this is a repeat offer.

Amazon Whispersync -- Monthly Offer -- exp 31 Mar
Quote:
Whispersync: Audible (free) | Kindle (free)

One of the most revered works in English literature, Great Expectations traces the coming of age of a young orphan, Pip, from a boy of shallow aspirations into a man of maturity. From the chilling opening confrontation with an escaped convict to the grand but eerily disheveled estate of bitter old Miss Havisham, all is not what it seems in Dickens’ dark tale of false illusions and thwarted desire.

Raised by a humble blacksmith, Pip is recruited by the wealthy Miss Havisham to be a companion to her ward, the cold but beautiful Estella. There, Pip learns to despise his rough origins as Estella torments him about his low prospects. When Pip is informed that an unknown benefactor expects to make him his heir, he sets off to London to realize his “great expectations.” But true gentleman stature, he will find, is a matter of character, not fortune.
Quote:
David Timson talks about Charles Dickens, much loved for his great contribution to classic English Literature. Listen to Great Expectations narrated by Anton Lesser.

In this, perhaps Dickens' most profound and personal novel, we are invited to share in the sentimental education of Pip, the poor boy from the village forge who risks losing himself in snobbery and selfishness when he mysteriously inherits a fortune. The story moves from the bleak Kentish marshes of Pip's childhood to a thrilling climax that mingles tragedy and triumph.

$11.16 -- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang... -- Frank Boyce/ David Tennant --> 5.1 hrs --> kids sci-fi

Quote:
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang over the Moon

From the award-winning Frank Cottrell Boyce comes the third official sequel to Ian Fleming’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The Tootings are stuck in 1966! Somebody has stolen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and left them behind—but that’s not their biggest problem. Their biggest problem is that Little Harry has been kidnapped by whoever stole their magical car. There’s only one solution: the Tootings must find the Potts—the family that originally built Chitty. Sharing their combined knowledge of how Chitty works, the families may stand a chance of rescuing Little Harry and finding the most brilliant car in the world. But a fiendish criminal has different plans, ones that involve flying Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to the moon and putting an explosive scheme into action.

$13.50 -- Wonder Women -- Sam Maggs/ Jodelle Ferland --> 6.6 hrs --> NF history

Quote:
Wonder Women: 25 Innovators, Inventors, and Trailblazers Who Changed History

A fun and feminist look at forgotten women in science, technology, and beyond, from the bestselling author of THE FANGIRL’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY

You may think you know women’s history pretty well. But have you ever heard of. . .

· Alice Ball, the chemist who developed an effective treatment for leprosy—only to have the credit taken by a man?
· Mary Sherman Morgan, the rocket scientist whose liquid fuel compounds blasted the first U.S. satellite into orbit?
· Huang Daopo, the inventor whose weaving technology revolutionized textile production in China—centuries before the cotton gin?

Smart women have always been able to achieve amazing things, even when the odds were stacked against them. In Wonder Women, author Sam Maggs tells the stories of the brilliant, brainy, and totally rad women in history who broke barriers as scientists, engineers, mathematicians, adventurers, and inventors. Plus, interviews with real-life women in STEM careers, an extensive bibliography, and a guide to women-centric science and technology organizations—all to show the many ways the geeky girls of today can help to build the future.

I see that Audible narrations that were INCLUDED for free with KU ebooks have disappeared from my Audible now that the ebooks are returned. But I'm not sure if I've ever paid money for a WfV deal for any KU book. I would HOPE if you pay money, you get to keep it.
