I believe you can choose FLAC or AIFF. (I think.)

click on it again. --- no more message about country when I did this ---
create an account. look for tiny print "Manual Download" to avoid the installer apps.

I didn't even have to enter my email to be notified. I went back to the site a second time and didn't get the pop-up that time. I was able to create and account and download just fine. Those that want to know the available formats can be seen in the attached screenshot.

That didn't work for me.

I downloaded 128 MP3 files. FLAC is way too large and I can't tell the difference on the speakers I use - laptop and small Bluetooth.

Before I give you today's YourClassical freebie, which I know that some of you will fail to see before the changeover to another one late tonight (EST), an archive (at least one) exists of the daily freebies. I'll look up the webpage for the archive and post it, on this thread, for you as soon as I reasonably can. So, you still can grab today's freebie, and do so at your convenience.

Brahms. That's who composed today's YourClassical freebie. The song is Serenade No. 2: V. Rondo.

Naxos is the one who has provided the piece, as they so often do, not only on YourClassical, but also elsewhere. The piece is taken from their album Brahms - Symphony No. 2 - Serenade No.2. It appears that the whole album is made up of tracks performed by the BRT Philharmonic Orchestra, Brussels, with Alexander Rahbari as conductor. Some inquistive peeps among us may wish to follow this link, where you will find a dedicated Naxos webpage for the album (but the information is pretty sparse this time).

Stream the free piece, from this webpage, if you want to see if you're interested in taking the step of downloading it, or just only want to listen to it for some other reason. If you like what you hear, or if you're like me and download all of the YourClassical freebies (I know that every one is going to be good, at least), make sure that you're at the webpage that I just gave you the URL for, above. I think that the piece is excellent. The piece is becalming, which is a characteristic that I generally like in a classical music piece.

It's a humongous file--1.2 GB. I chose the "tar folder" option. I wonder why they quit using zip--it's a standard. I had never heard of tar.

The 128 MP3 version is only 64.3 MB

I prefer at least 320kbps if I can't get lossless, although I've got some 256 stuff that sounds okay. (except for audiobooks, then I can go lower)
