No, that doesn't work either.
I have several Eng-Eng dictionaries on my devices. The only one displaying this problem is the official Kobo one. It looks like this dictionary is styled as an ordered list (<ol><li> etc). I've occasionally seen this same problem with ordered lists in epubs on Kobos, too, when the list item number has more than a single-digit. With a book, I think your original suggestion of increasing the left margin in the CSS will correct it, but not in the dictionary widget it seems. |

It's preparation for a word builder function. If you add "MyWords=true" into the "FeatureSettings" section of the config file, the dictionary pop-up has "Add to My Worlds". Tapping that adds the word to a word list accessible from the main menu or the home screen depending on which home screen you have.

Well I decided to try the patch anyway since I have spare readers (and fortunately I did not end up with the new homescreen). My only problem is the patch to `Increase The Cover Size In Library` for the Glo HD. The book tiles are just slightly too large so they cover up the dividing line between books where the cover is, and the kb in the book size is just slightly cut off at the very end. In 3.19.5761 and prior patches it was easy to see and change the sizes slightly to fix it. But in 4.3.8842 it's not apparent at all what to change.
It's livable as is, but is there any way to easily make the book cover sizes just slightly smaller per device like there used to be? Using the larger dictionary frame size has a similar problem for the Glo HD but not so livable. Whenever you have a 2nd page, the last line on page 1 is cut off and enough so that it's just about impossible to make out. |

The patch in post #1 is not good, see this beta patch by jackie_w. @GeoffR: can you remove the dictionary patch from post #1, and check the beta patch on your Glo. Last edited by oren64; 02-27-2017 at 03:39 AM. |

The dictionary patch 5 is good, and all the more necessary since Kobo increased font size in the dictionary pop-up and the full page for the One - too big for my taste, while it is fine on the Glo HD. At first it seemed calibrated to need the same number of pages across devices size, but in fact I found a case where the pop-up needed 1 more page on the One than on the Glo HD.
On a related subject, the list of my words in Activities uses an even bigger font size. EDIT: I think it's a good idea to have the same number of tiles on the home page and other books by cover across devices size, the same number of lines in the collections and book lists, but NOT the same number of pages when calling dictionaries. Update for Custom Header menubar - reduce height by 50%

I've added the updated patch code to the end of the earlier post #43 in order to to keep everything together. It will now reduce Header height by 50% for both old and new Home screens. Don't forget, it should be added to nickel.patch, not one of the other 3 .patch files. |

I've tested it in an original Aura 6" and it works well, thank you.

Okay, now I've installed the patch again (after avoiding it for a while since I'm the one who reported bootloops with "enable new home screen").
Now the device freezes whenever a book/article is opened. This has never happened when patching previous firmwares. I'm not sure what's going on. EDIT: wait, looks like this is my mistake. after factory resetting I assumed the setup screen would update to 4.2.8842, but it updated to an earlier firmware. thus I installed an incompatible patch.
