Page numbers are not important for me when reading an ebook. It's fine to have the info of percentage read. That's enough I think.

For most of the ebooks that I've read with page numbers, you can go to the end to see how many there are in total - just like with a paperback or hardcover.

I understand the progress thing. Makes perfect sense to me. Or, X minutes remaining in this book. What I don't get is the page numbers thing, versus Locations, or the "page numbers" created, on the fly, by other devices, that are just as fake as Location numbers. That's kind of my question. Is it because they are called "pages?" Hitch

Since I read kindle books in the dark with minimal light, I can't see page numbers anyway. I liked the dots which showed you your progress, but I guess that is too old school.

Although I can't speak for Sydney's Mom, I find that as I've gotten older I have trouble reading the page number/location/time left to read/etc at the bottom of the page in low light. I also have to adjust my font levels up a size when reading at night. I suppose if I ceded to the inevitable and started wearing reading glasses I wouldn't have any trouble seeing those tiny numbers, but I just can't bring myself to go there. In bright indoor light or daylight I have no trouble, so I'm putting off getting reading glasses for the nonce.

I never noticed it didn't have page numbers. . what bugs me is I can't fold the top corner of the page to save my place in the book.

I've just swiped the page of a real book. Three times, then realised why it wasn't going to work... :-)

The other thing I've done is get frustrated, trying to remember a recipe for specific ingredients, and go to search...and then realize, "aw, crap, this is a PRINT book!" :-) Hitch
