My Aura only remembers the setting for the shelf it was changed in. I would prefer a global default setting for all shelves including any new shelves I create. Is there not a way to change this in the devices data base?

The sorting for the shelves are stored in the config file, not the database. There doesn't seem to be a way to set a default. You would need to add an entry for each shelf with the sorting that you wanted.

My Aura One doesn't seem to be able to complete a sync since it updated to this new firmware. Of course, this drains the battery. I've always left the wi-fi on and let it auto-sync nightly. I've had it since they first came out and never had issues with this until now. When I cancel syncing, it shows 2/18 as its last sync. However, I received the update after that and also a book I purchased on 2/21 has downloaded.

Is it me or are screen refreshes a lot faster on the Aura 1 with this update? The device feels a lot smoother now.

PS: New homescreen appeared after a second reboot on my H2O.

Edit: Hmmm, is there a way to view which books I've finished now?

You can go to "My Books" and then change the "Show:" filter to" Finished". At least, that works on my H2O.

Really, wow didn't know that ! Don't really understand the technology of a screenshot being in color when everything on the reader is greyscale (but I'm no expert !) Thanks for your answer anyway. I must admit getting a bit excited when I saw the screenshot of the new homescreen and it was in color !!

Getting some weird and frustrating frontlight behaviour on my H2O with this firmware.

When attempting to bring the brightness down to 0%, the reader will instead stop at 1% brightness. Five seconds later, the screen will go completely dark.

I often use 1% backlight when reading in total darkness, so now what happens is that I think I've set it to 1%, then five seconds later my screen goes dark and I have to turn a light on to navigate! It's incredibly annoying.

Anyone else observed this? It happens both in the brightness menu, and when adjusting via gesture shortcut.

The software supports color but the display renders in b/w. Makes sense from a software design kinda view, this way the core of their product is ready if they ever do get a device with a color display.

All you need is a display driver that renders in whatever kind of way the hardware needs & all the rest of the software is abstracted from that aspect.
