As the database table says, ABTest. Only some of us will see the new home screen, others will see the old one. Kobo will probably be looking at complaints, sales, etc. to decide which to go with.

Oddly, when I factory reset my KA1, it came back to the old home screen. It switched back to the new home screen when I restored the database.

It ended up after 29 -- the sort went 28,29,23.5,26.5,28.5. OTOH, after a factory reset and reinstall, the sort now works properly.

I am not sure if this was available in previous FWs, since I did not look for the settings lately.

I did not notice yesterday that one has to long press the word to get the options "Read definition," "View in book" and "remove." I am still unable to read the definition, but to view all occurrences in a book might certainly be useful.

Interesting - I found that ghosting that I saw after opening the sleep cover was much improved. I only refresh every chapter, and really don't see much ghosting in operation.

I just installed the new firmware and the patches and I am on the old home screen. I did this manually. I have no idea if that kept me on the old home screen or not. I might use the patch to try the new home screen and see how that goes.

The patches, aside from the one to enable or disable the new homescreen, do not affect the homescreen.

I've been having this issue since FW 4.2.xxxx on my H2O, and seem to have the same issue on 4.3.8842.

It doesn't happen every time the reader is put to sleep. Putting the reader to sleep and waking up a couple of times seems to usually get it working again.

The symptoms make me suspect that the touch screen isn't waking up properly when the device is woken from sleep, as the device is otherwise responsive to the sleep button.

It is annoying, but it is intermittent enough for me at the moment to live with it for now.

I like the new version.

• I have the old screen, but it wouldn't be a problem anyway thanks to GeoffR
• The Series order is very useful. I won't have to set books related according to series anymore, and it only worked for short series anyway.
• I like that the device remembers the last search type from within a book (sometimes I want within the book itself, sometime from my book list).
• I haven't measured it precisely, but calling Collections is definitely quicker - I'd say counting to "and nine" instead of "and 16" for mine which number up to almost 1000 books, which makes it more bearable.
