I've watched lately "The Dresden Files" tv series. A very weak performance.
They buried all Jim's flavor under some... well, weak performance, weak stories. They made blond brunette, too.

I watched the series with pleasure because of Paul Blackthorne.

Even though his Harry was not the Harry, Paul Blackthorne was the Harry and could be a perfect Harry.
If only the script guy was a little bit more talented... or producer... or whatever...

I have this vague memory about Jim saying he was quite involved in shaping this production. If it is true - he should not do it again! It is probably not something he is good at.

Jim had absolutely nothing to do with that show's writing or with its production.

In a forum post Jim Butcher stated :

"The show is not the books. It is not meant to follow the same story. It is meant as an alternate world, where the overall background and story-world is similar, but not all the same things happen. The show is not attempting to recreate the books on a chapter-by-chapter or even story-by-story basis".

He continued by saying viewers should not expect a duplicate of the books, and those expecting it would be disappointed.

I figured that I should give those of you unexposed to the Peter Grant series a taste of the dialog from one of the books:

Dominic stared at the werelight.
‘What the hell is that?’ he asked.
‘It’s a magic spell,’ I said, and Beverley snorted.
‘Show off,’ she said.
‘I said I was going to do magic,’ I said.
‘But .*.*.’ Dominic floundered around for a bit before pointing at me accusingly. ‘You said that there’s weird shit, but it normally turns out to have a rational explanation.’
‘It does,’ said Beverley. ‘The explanation is a wizard did it.’
‘That’s my line,’ I said, and Beverley shrugged.
‘You didn’t say anything about spells!’ said Dominic.
‘It’s just a werelight,’ I said.
It was like having our own personal streetlight, but beyond that bright circle the woods were a jumble of angular shadows – shifting uneasily as the yellow werelight bobbed and wavered in the breeze.
‘Can we at least start moving in the right direction?’ I said.
‘Jesus Christ,’ said Dominic, who was still having trouble. ‘Is there anything else I should know?’
‘We’re looking for an invisible unicorn and Bev here is the goddess of a small river in South London.’

They are a bit behind on their info about the author... I highly doubt a release date of September 2017. According to Priscilla Spencer he is still writing Peace Talks and after finishing it will take at least six months before it is published. So although in theory end of September would be feasible, I doubt it. If Jim was almost done with Peace Talks, it would have been mentioned.
