Reading paper? I do it less and less because I keep pressing the spot where the page turn button should be, and frustrate myself at not being able to bump up the font size.

phenomshel, I've been converting my library the lazy way, as the books come available in eBook format I buy them and give away my paper versions. Sorry that I couldn't be more help, there are some great threads in the Lounge that talk about scanning for personal use.
In regards to the "Kitty" books in my sig line, I'm really enjoying them. I have been home with the flu and it's really helped my reading speed. I'm almost done the 4th book and can't wait till the 5th hits the eBook shelves. There's just something about a kick ass Werewolf named Kitty that tickles my fancy.

Cool, I'll stop eyeing them and actually put them on my wishlist then!

Funny thing. I had my Dad read his first ever e-book on my Nokia 770. He reported enjoying the experience, but he kept trying to reach up to the corner to turn the page.

I did that for about the first 20 pages the first time I started a book on my new Astak. It passes quickly... or did for me.

So do I. There are tons of historical documents that can not be OCRed and will always exist.

I believe though that most publications will be electronic. But some people will always take to the pen. In Quebec, by law, all publications have to be sent to the National Library in printed form.

Something though weighs in heavily towards the opposite. I saw classes in primary school where kids learn to write on a computer before learning calligraphy. :cringe:

Even though paper support must exist, it is in danger, just the same way printed pictures are.

so you are saying that within 10-20 years, everyone in the world will have access to e-book readers?

Hows that gonna happen?
