To avoid such incident in future, I created 2nd page on Nova launcher, and the whole page populated with calibration icons.. So any time the calibration off by so much, I just flip to next page on Nova launcher using hard button.. And I can tap anywhere to go into calibration setting..
Hi. I have the same issue and stuck on the main screen. I can't tap the setting except a few books. I can't power off the device as well. How can you manage to calibration setting?

Problem with stylus calibration!

Hi. I have N96 ml version. I did the stylus calibration in the settings menu and at that moment my stylus doesn't work properly. I cannot navigate on the screen. For ex. when I tab on the bottom of the screen, the upper part works. Then I have updated the same version but still nothing changed. I have read the previous messages that some users have the same problem. It makes me crazy. Please help me.

Hello,

Could someone help me who owns an N96 Dual Touch device?

I would like to know if My Script Smart Note can be run on this device. I think that Market Helper is needed for that, so a rooted device is essential.

Is the latency of the stylus bearable?

Thank you!

I tried My Script Smart Note on my Onyx Boox Max and it is quite sluggish. If you want to try, I suggest you to install it on a smartphone of yours and then to extract the apk with an app like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...?id=com.ext.ui. Then copy the apk into Onyx memory, open and install it. NO ROOT needed

Hello,
I am thinking to buy a N96CML, but I have some questions.
1- Does anyone know if capacitive stylus work well in this device (for take notes on PDFs or scribbling)?
2- Does manga apps and manga website like batoto work well?
3- Does it handle correctly heavies PDFs and comics (200 or more pages between 500kb to 1mb)?

PS I'm from Spain, so please excuse my grammatical mistakes and rudeness if I had.

Hi,

1. I have tried some capacitive stylus on capacitive screens of EINk devices (including Onyx devices). Unfortunately I could not find a good working stylus. At least I was not satisfied with the result. Onyx capacitive touch screen works well for finger controlling of UI, but for scribbled annotation digitiser is much better.
2. Reading of mangas on Onyx devices is OK. I am not manga fan though, but just of curiosity I tried some apps in the past and it worked fine for me.
3. Onyx reader does not have problems at all to handle even heavier PDFs. I tried up to 170MB PDFs. It worked OK. Turning pages in scanned (not OCRed) PDFs with lots of pages can be quite slow (>2 seconds) though (especially if you apply some zoom or margin cropping features to them).

I was looking forward N96 reviews. They have started to appear on youtube.
I share my recompilation, my thoughts on them and the questions that have generated / not answered that hopefully Booxtor or other owners can answer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XzK...A&spfreload=10 N96CML(?) A)
N96 with pen (and finger (?) )
1:50 Flexible plastic display
4:56 Either pen or finger (Lazy pinch and zoom)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDulWjZGgrM N96CML B)
1:19 Slow opening file
2:20 Never ended storage scan
3:49 6:50 User gets impatient. This is not a tablet.
7:00 9:20 Unusable as web browser
9:39 Unable to open amazon kindle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qrjxly-wdk N96ML C)
15:57 Web browsing. "It takes forever". It looks right to me.
18:07 "For reading purposes, great" Pen purposes->horrible.
19:32 No pressure sensitive pen, no recommended

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WeiE5DU880 N96ML D)
It seems working as reading device.
10:36 Web browsing? Not bad to my eye.

My questions would be:
Is the first review on N96CML? Is it usable with either pen of finger? (I thought just pen) Does it really have flexible plastic display? Big screen durability improvement?

Are C complaints based on bad software version? I think I have read an update of N96ML broke the pen sensitive features. Would that be the case of user C?.

B user is not happy with his device and tries to show it off.
I have had issues with Amazon Kindle on a tablet, sometimes it open, sometimes not. So it could be not a real issue.
Web browing is bad. Is he using a very heavy page? Does it work properly on lighter pages? It seems right on D and C, eink speed restricted, but not cpu restriccted as B.

Is pinch and zoom usable on N96CML? A user tried and moved forward without showing it working.

Nobody complains of the light. I feared a device so big would cause irregular lighting.
Booxtor please, could you provide a N96CML review?.

Interesting compilation. Thank you.

A few people here have remarked that the N96ML's light is rather weak. There were some images posted, alongside another reader for comparison.

I don't remember exactly where they are, but you can do a search and try to locate them.

Tough search as the terms are too generic: N96ML light (and variants of it).

I had to search it by hand, and here are the answers:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=275737 One too dim, others not so bad. Includes pictures.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=277270 Post #4 Very detailed anser, happy user.
