I have to be motivated to reinstall the samsung kindle app on my galaxy s4 to get one of the free books because I have too many kindle books and it sucks up all the remaining internal memory on my phone, I think just for the covers. I'm probably going to get the Peter David one, but I mostly just want to complain that when people use the insanity defense, they don't get set free at the end of the trial. They get sent to a psychiatric hospital, and it can be effectively a life sentence if the doctors continue to think that the guy on trial is a danger to either himself or the general public.

Me three! Does anyone know any way to mitigate the memory hogging, other than periodically uninstalling and reinstalling? When I first install, it eats a couple hundred MB, but quickly grows to eat up to 2 GB. I can tamp it down a bit with a cleaning app, but eventually just have to uninstall and reinstall if I want to keep it on my phone - which for the moment, I do, although I'm rapidly losing patience with it...

I have something like 80 GB free on my memory card, and I basically asked if there was any way to get the kindle app to save stuff on the memory card instead of internal storage over at the amazon forums, and all I got was a smart-aleck suggestion that I get a better phone with more internal memory.

Thumbs down to unhelpful smart-alecks. To answer the question you posed in the Kindle forum, see (3) below.

I traded up from a SGS4 to a SGS7 last April (via a $1 trade-in at Best Buy; you might consider trading up, too, if you can find a good deal or get fed up with the SGS4's storage limitations). I also disabled the regular Kindle app (which is part of Samsung's bloatware) and regularly perform the tasks listed below. Nonetheless, I continue to share your complaints about the KFS app.

Because I use a lot of apps and storage-hogging content, I regularly perform the following tasks, which you might also benefit from performing:

(1) Move content from such apps as Kindle, Kobo, and NOOK to the cloud, or archive it.

(2) Disable or Greenify apps not currently in use.

(3) Use the ES Task Manager app's Kill, Clean, and Optimize functions.

(4) Use the AppMgr III app to transfer moveable apps - including KFS - to external storage and to clean cache again. It's a daily whack-a-mole game, though, because each time apps update, they move themselves back to internal storage.

(5) Type *#9900# on my phone's keypad and then select delete dumpstate/logcat, to remove unneeded log files.
