Download Metadata

Hello everyone.

My language is not English, and for this, I use an online translator.

That when an English speaker read it, some expressions, are incomprehensible, but apologized, and I hope your help anyway.

My question is a little off-topic, but here goes. I need to know how to download the metadata from the Internet, either google amazon, ISBN or other.

I'm doing a script for linux and I need this information, I searched the web and have not found where this information is saved, why it is not getting it.

thanks in advance

He states that he wants to roll his own Linux script.

I think there is the impression that metadata sources are standardized
We know differently , making Calibre an easy choice.

Yeah, I figured it was friendlier to ask if he already uses Calibre than it is to write a 'Just use Calibre!' post

Calibre source code is readily available.
http://calibre-ebook.com/get-involved
You may be able to use the Python code for retrieving metatdata to see how it is done..

Thank you all.

Passing this information, if he serves someone else.

The answer was simple, but at the time of writing this post, I had not found it.

It can be used in database of ISBNs this way

wget http://isbndb.com/api/v2/json/[your-api-key]/book/principles_of_solid_mechanics

[Your-api-key] is a key, which receive, at the register, free.

So you get a page of text, which can be saved in a variable, and then extract the desired information.

Here the link to the documentation page ISBN.
