If you encounter the problem, try to reset your device to factory setting. |

Thanks but it does not solve it.
Furthermore, NeoReader2 is useless for reading any pdfs that you may have highlighted before scanning. It isimpossible to get the Bold and the Contrast settings so that you can read the highlighted areas as well as the normal text. The highlights are blacked out or the text is far too feint. I am going back to 1.7.5. |

It's easy to read.
Have you highlighted this document BEFORE to scan it ? It's what Rine111 have done. Last edited by Randy11; 01-30-2017 at 04:12 AM. |

In Neo 2 you can also set the type of highlighting - inversion or underline. I prefer to underline citations, but there are a lot of users , who liked colour inversion.

Sorry. I just realised that it was not scanned copies I was looking at. It was pdfs created by the Open University that I had highlighted in Adobe Reader. As I said, the highlighted areas are either blacked out in the ereader or the rest of the text is too feint.
It may be be because the OU uses a feint typeface. Yours has very strong contrast. My pdfs look nothing like that. Sorry for the confusion over the scanning issue. Most of my documents are scans. Last edited by rine111; 01-30-2017 at 10:45 AM. |

Can you change the colour of the highlights? Perhaps the current highlight colour gets translated to a very dark shade of grey. If you could change them to something light, like yellow, it might be easier to read on a greyscale device.

However on checking I see that my highlight colour is the same as that shown in cgman's photo. I don't know how the contrast on his pdf is so strong or how he managed to get the highlighted areas and the other text visible at the same time. I haven't been able to reproduce it. Obviously going forward I could and will use the lighter shade of yellow that is available. Going back there are simply too many to get involved in trying to change them. It wasn't necessary for 1.7.5. |

I tried loading 1.8.1 again.
1. Document names still missing in Recently Read (not missing in Now Reading). 2. Contrast/Bold issue PDF with highlighted areas: upper box contains light yellow highlight lower box contains standard dark yellow highlight Sorry. I don't know why photos are turned. On my PC they are normal. NeoReader 2.0 Photo 1 - contrast 150, bold level 1 Photo 2 - contrast 180, bold off NeoReader 1.0 Photo 3 - contrast 150, bold level 1 Photo 4 - contrast 150, bold off It's not clear in the photos, but the contrast in photo 3 (NeoReader 1.0 with bold) is approximately the same as that in photo 1 (NeoReader 2.0 with bold) except in NeoReader 2.0 you can't read the highlights. Basically these pdfs are difficult to read without using bold (as I remember was demonstrated on a review on YouTube). Photo 4 shows you what the pdf looks like without bold. Summary: 1.Need bold to read pdfs. 2. Bold in NeoReader 2.0 blacks out both types of highlights (reduced contrast does not solve this). 2. Bold in NeoReader 1.0 allows reading of text and light and dark highlights. 4. This relates to highlights of text in an already coloured box. Normal text is not so bad. However this result does show that NeoReader 2.0 lacks something that NeoReader 1.0 has. Last edited by rine111; 02-02-2017 at 08:32 AM. Reason: nneded to see photos to be able to describe them |

1. Downloaded update file update.zip into the root directory of built-in storage or the root directory of MicroSD card, without decompression; 2. Go to Settings - About - system update , choose "Check update from local storage"; 3. The system detects the update package, the process need about 3-5 minutes ; If you can not detect the update package, please check the downloaded file package is complete, try another new MicroSD card or save the package in built-in storage and try again; 4. After updating the device will automatically reboot (for the first time into the system a little longer, please be patient), you can enter the settings - About - devices check the version number; |
