If I could do away with "gadgets" in my life, I would do away with my cell phone, my laptop, and my TV without hesitation. I could do without TV. My cell phone is another matter. I need to be able to keep in touch with my daughter and husband. How else can I know what he wants for dinner when I'm at the store?

My laptop? My LIFE!! I mean no more MobileRead??!!! I can always read on my laptop, while complaining bitterly, but I can't cruise the 'net on my Kindle. Not without throwing it thru the window in frustration!~but it does make an awesome reading device......

As I suspected, while people have the ability to read on their cells, the majority, 2-1 so far, prefer to read on their dedicated e-book devices........

'Course, thats with only 26 votes so far...

I'm not sure if your poll reflects your assement so far. Not all phones have the ability to read eBooks. The main target for eBooks on phones are smartphones. The vast majority of phones today are not smartphones so the large majority of folks with phones are going to answer "The eBook-Reader" over the phones. From your post I think your intent wast to query smartphone owners. But the thread header and poll questions do not reflect this.

I think rewording the poll so that you only limit the participants to smartphones owners. This will give you a better distribution, and a more accurate poll.

[] I only read on my smartphone (iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, etc...)
[] I have a smartphone (iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, etc...) and eBook reader but still only read on my eBook Reader

I'd recommend you let this poll run you already have a good amount of votes here. Just start a new poll and clearly label it a smartphone/smartphone+eBookReaders owners only. I'd be interested in seeing the difference between the two.

I have the dumbest cellphone I could find because I only want to use it to make calls. If I could read anything on it longer than one sentence, I would be quite surprised.

Hey... I have a cellphone... but I can't read on it! It's not an iPhone or crackberry, it's an LG Dare, which is java-based. I have yet to successfully add an e-book app to it (I only know of one, and so far, I haven't been able to get it to work).

With my Sony Reader long since out of commission, and me waiting (and trying to save up) for a more durable plastic screen model, I've reluctantly been reading off of my cell. I guess it could be worse. At least the screen is 3" instead of 1".

My screen is only 2.8".

Can I have .1 of an inch so we can be even?
