Just finished:
Damage Control by J.A. Jance: Pretty good, I have read the whole series by this author. Over-priced but I got it during a 60% micropay rebate sale so I am okay with that. Cycler by Lauren McLaughlin: Excellent. A very creative novel about a teenage girl who becomes a boy for four days a month during her 'cycle.' Again, over-priced, but again, I got it with 60% Micropay rebate... Tornado Bait by Amy Eastlake: Excellent! And this is an internet indie author. Loved it and will def by more in this series. Books for a Buck prices their books well. Witchy Woman by Karen Leabo: Another Books for a Buck author. Liked this one a lot. I wish this author would do some sequels rather than each book being a stand-alone... |

Does anyone like Refuge? I started it and quit couldn't get past those first references. Should I grit my teeth and keep going? Meanwhile I finished Midnight Veil by Lara Adrian, and two of Elinor Glyn's books; Man and the Moment & Three Weeks both good relationship and growth studies. And then I downloaded a freebie by Carole Nelson Douglas (Fictionwise?) entifled Dancing with Werewolves. I thought it was so cool, I went back and bought the next in the series; A Brimstone Kiss they were both really light, fun, fast reads. After that I got a great deal on a pre-order and downloaded Coyote's Mate by Lora Leigh also pretty good.
Currently reading Ecstasy by Jacquelyn Frank. LJ I just can't get into audo books. |

Read Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs yesterday. Good strong characterization. A few clever twists and turns. I was borrowing it in hardcover from a friend who'd bought it, but assuming the ebook price comes down when it hits paperback, I'll probably get my own copy. (I've already re-read the other books in the series, and will probably do so again.)
I hadn't realized Carole Nelson Douglas was writing about werewolves now. I'd been hoping she'd write some more Irene Adler books. People who like her might like Barbara Hambly. |

Refuge is making me feel terribly ignorant. I have to look up the French and Latin words that keep popping up which is making it hard to focus on the story.

Refuge is going to give us a lot to talk about. I'm almost finished with it, making some sticky notes along the way because I don't want to forget anything. I'm reading the Adobe DE version, and the sticky note feature sure would have made it easier on me when I was in college. No, scratch that. Books weren't available online at the time. PG was being discussed as something revolutionary that was coming down the pike.
