If you want a Kindle and do not want to spend the money on a Voyage, go with the PW3. (IMHO) the Oasis is a waste of money. If you don't want a Kindle, then go for the Kobo Aura H2O or Kobo Aura One.

I looked at both the Voyage and the Oasis at the Seattle Amazon store. I really liked the feel and the buttons of the Oasis better. It would be perfect if they added a home and a menu button. I'm just sticking a bit at the price (60 books at $5 each). I'll probably wait until my battery starts to go or until there is a price drop.

One thing I thought of. The batteries in ereaders are generally not made to be replaceable. If the Oasis has a battery in the detachable cover if the battery goes you might just be able to buy a replacement cover.

Though your choice of the word gaming is intriguing. And in a recent survey over 50% of Oasis buyers are very happy with their new kindle. |

(Over) 50% seems like a low satisfaction rate. It would seem to indicate that almost half of Oasis owners wish they had gone with something else. But then I haven't studied it. Perhaps that is par for the course for any device? (I'm not an Oasis hater. A device is worth what the bulk of those interested in it are willing to pay.) |

The Oasis is by no means rubbish (imho, of course
) Yes, the price is a bit excessive. But I personally have read on my Oasis since early June and I certainly don't wish I had something else instead. It's very lightweight and comfortable, and the screen is nice. I've had no problems whatsoever with it.I still read on my Voyage too, about half the time, and I still like it very much as well. They're both excellent readers, imho. Just my two cents.

Not sure if that is a good indication of kindle readers but it proves that the Oasis isn't rubbish. |
