Nah .... really .... this is not a big deal. I just thought I'd mention it because, well, just because. My vision is fine ... it's just a case of Moore's Streaks. About as pathological as floaters ...
Well it's your eyeballs

I haven't heard of the 11th hour. I do love me some Mystery Diagnosis though.

Well, it helps to be a biological outlier. All my life I've had people fussing over things that aren't so much a matter of pathology as they are just being at the far end of a set of statistics.

I've had more than one doctor declare me to be "completely alien" .... of course, they do it with a smile, and we both laugh about it.

I think this is just one more of those things. I'm trying to see if I can figure out how to make these flashes happen on command. But, they seem to be diminishing at the moment.

Oh, and apropos of absolutely nothing .... I was dumpster diving yesterday (which I love to do .... you get the best stuff to refinish), and I found this GREAT old wooden desk chair ... you know, the kind with the curved back and slats, like a detective or newspaper editor would have in the 20s or 30s in a movie.

New casters for it only ran $14, and it shouldn't take me too long to have it looking really good.

Television is more concerned with telling a good story than with getting the facts straight (this goes for both fiction and nonfiction programs). The two TV programs I watch, other than documentaries, are House and Doctor Who. The one that challenges my suspension of belief most often is House.

Unless you have reason to suspect that your real-world ophthalmologist is an idiot, I'd trust his/her judgment over anything dug up on television or the internet.

I've had visual disturbances from migraine all my life. I know what those are like. I'm also well versed in what a retinal tear or detachment does in the way of visual impairment. This isn't those. And, it appears to be going away.

I always get the very classic migraine aura (with or without headache), which isn't like lightning ... more like looking at light at the bottom of a pool of clear water. Sort of distorted.

Retinal detachments and tears (been there, done that) produces yet another type of visual distortion, that doesn't look anything like this.

This is forked lightning in the periphery. I am positive it was a case of Moore's Streaks, which (as I mentioned) is nothing to worry about.

I really doubt that both of my retinas would decide to detach or tear, for no particular reason, on the exact same day at the exact same time. That would be a little weird even for my body.
