Haven't noticed if it is related to the type other than they are all epubs from Calibrè and are novels.

Library is only 763 books and I have "only" 78.31 GB of available space left.

Just purchased MapleRead SE 1.6.3 and am using it on an ipad Pro and ipad Air 2. I loaded a book from my Calibre library (hosted on web server). Somehow, I ended up with multiple copies of the same book synced to the MapleRead web Directory.

I've deleted the book from both my iPads and sync'd the library's using the GUI, but the duplicated book remains in the web Directory.

Am I missing something?

No - never have had a crash - on ipad mini 3 - have been using quite some time. Love the vocab switch by the way. This is by far the best reader for ios.

MapleRead does not allow duplicated books in its library and the corresponding web/cloud directory. See FAQ “Does MapleRead allow duplicated books in its library?” for more detailed explanation. We've just updated the web/cloud server script to display the MD5 signature of each book. You should be able to see that books you originally thought were identical are actually not, as they have different MD5 signatures. (Strictly speaking, the book themselves are not in the cloud; only the directory info are.)

Thanks for all the updates. Would it be possible, in a future update, to have the option to sort author's names alphabetically by Last name but show the first name first (both for folders and list) please. This would be much appreciated, thanks.

The UI design is very user-friendly, living up to the high expectation, as usual, I have for the app. There is a thoughtful detail not mentioned above by sbaylor, and yet I appreciate very much, when I turn off wireless access to save battery especially during bedtime reading:
- iOS dictionary always used when offline
as my preferred (online) dictionary for Define is usually something else.

Would you rather have some way to increase the distance between the header and the main text instead? The header contains some useful info, including the percentage into the book.

A question about "set my dictionary" option , can it not use an external dictionary app?, it only works with web pages.
One thing I miss in mapleread is the option to add url schemes so one can use their own dictionary app, or search a place in google maps, etc.
if this were added to mapleread then it would be the greatest reading app.

We already have a progress bar. Just enable progress bar when header is disabled. Or put the percentage in the middle of footer when the header is disabled. I think the name of the book you are reading isn't really useful information, I mean, who forgets it?

Right now header looks way too similar to the text. It really distracts me and I think what I am asking is pretty simple to do.

Many paper books have book titles printed on headers on even-numbered pages, and chapter titles on odd-numbered pages. Why do the traditional publishers do that? According to your theory above, that practice makes even less sense. I read a lot of non-fiction books with MapleRead. The book title and chapter title display really looks nice and serves as a useful reminder of the context.

Having said that, I don't mind having an option to show only header or only footer, while dropping book and chapter titles as there may not be sufficient space, esp. on iPhones. But this is definitely not a must-have feature. I'm happy with the current header+footer combination.

Just curious, what really makes the book title distracting for you? Font-family, font-size (relative to your chosen text font size)? For me, I prefer a small title size vs. text size, which is the status quo, as I read in size 24px or larger on my iPad. Perhaps you read in smaller font size?

@gerge - Would you mind posting a screenshot of a page, the book title of which you feel distracting? Please also tell me the font size you use in the screenshot. Thanks.

Thanks for you suggestion. Can you tell us some external iOS (dictionary) apps you plan to use and the corresponding URL schemes to serve as test cases for MapleRead's future development?
