Kobo Bold problem

First, I'm probably in the wrong forum but could not find where and how to post a new thread elsewhere?? I have the new Kobo Aura One e-reader but can't seem to change my fonts to bold for some external epubs. I click on the advanced button and maxed out the weight but no change. I tried changing the font in my epub via Calibre but only had success changing the first chapter, the rest had blank pages. I watched the tutorial but need more specific instructions on change fonts to bold throughout the entire book. I know I'm close but I could use simply step by step instructions on how to change the font in an epub to bold and then how to add it to the device. Thanks in advance.
