N96 1.8.0 frustrations: exporting highlighted and annotated pdfs

Hi all,

I've updated to the 1.8 firmware and I have to say I'm quite pleased with the improvements on the handwriting. Its imprecision made it almost impossible to use but now it is much, much better. The Neo Reader UI is also faster and better looking

I've been frustrated about something though:

I use my N96 for academic research. My workflow involves NVivo and Zotero, which are mandatory for me as I don't want the pain of migrating to other softwares. I synced zotero to a google drive folder with Zotfile and synced this same folder to the N96 with DriveSync (It's a bit clunky, but it's the best way I've found so far since zandy, zed, zojo and Google Drive don't work or look horrible on this Android 4.0 e-ink device. I'm open to all suggestions which could improve this)

I use to highlight, annotate and scribble these pdf on Neo Reader and then export it. But I had to manually cut/paste the exported file to the original location and remove the .export suffixe to sync everything back to zotero. I had great hopes with v1.8.0 since the changelog mentioned:

1.7 Highlight, annotation and handwriting can be merged with the original document and exported as a new document.

Now I see that exports don't even work anymore

what should I do?

I did this update after a major system malfunction whereby the N96 kept rebooting ad eternam (loosing all my work in the process) so now I'm seriously questioning that 400€ investment which could have been spent on an iPad or the like...



p.s.: the only modification I made to the original setup was adding DriveSync and Gmail.
