Just wondered if there is a way to NOT have the 'Delete Books' check box automatically checked under the Reject Books option. I use Reject Books for fics that I already have, that way I don't inadvertently add them again later, so I don't want to delete them, but I sometimes forget about that little check mark (and when unchecked it returns checked next time...). No big if it can't be, figured I would ask.

FanFicFare has replace_br_with_p because one of the other developers wanted to add it. It's not a cure all and probably never will be because authors can be... creative let's say, about spacing.

If replace_br_with_p isn't working, you're left with manual editing or other tools as you and Atherton25 have been discussing.

There isn't right now because I didn't consider it--I mapped the 'Del' key to the FFF Reject Books option. I'll look into that later in the week; I'm still traveling.

In the mean time, there's a built-in Calibre 'are you sure?' popup for deleting the book(s) after reject runs. You may not see it if you once used it and unchecked the 'show again next time' checkbox. You can get it back in calibre -> Preferences -> Behavior -> 'Reset all disabled confirmation dialogs'.

Yes, that check box has been a lifesaver. Except twice now, I remember I have to remove the check about deleting, but I get distracted and almost remove the check from the delete dialog, rather than the reject dialog I thankfully realized before actually doing it...

As far as I can see, the element with "bottNav" is only on the last page of any story. And it is outside the "article" tag. In one of the last couple of changes I made, I stripped everything outside the article tag, so these should be stripped already. And for the tests I've done, I can't find it in any of the downloaded stories.

BTW, any other wuxia/xanxia sites that you add are an excellent choice. readlightnovel.com is a great one. *grins* Sometimes reading the translations gives me headaches, but some of the stories out there are just awesome.

Now,

Well... I've been trying to figure out what is going on here... but it doesn't start a job when I try to download any story from Wuxia... just tries to fetch the metadata, and stops... so I don't know how to fix it, since i don't get an indication where the error occurs...
I'll continue to try to figure it out. I do know it works for the CLI, though.

EDIT: I've figured out how to get error messages from before the job starts, but I am stuck on figuring out WHY it's erroring out... *sigh*

Is it a unicode error?
I have seen something like it somewhere, and when I put in google search, omitting the specific locations I come up with multiple references to unicode errors. so can you force it to push unicode and/or ignore non-unicode characters?

The character range error sounds like a similar problem.

If you had out-right failures, there was probably a network or site problem. Or you've been downloading 'too many too fast' and have been throttled by ffnet (FAQ).

These two correctly didn't download covers, because they don't have their own covers, only the author image.

defaults.ini contains:

You may set skip_author_cover:false under [www.fanfiction.net] in personal.ini if you'd like to use author image covers.
