That's a crappy thing to do to long term customers. Not everyone backs up their stuff right away or at all. And some might not even know how to do that. This is wrong on so many levels. To just close without a proper time frame for customers to back up their books or spend their credit. This is the holidays many are out of town and no access to their computer.
Makes me relieved I never bought from them. All I have are freebies but I feel for those who do have a large library. Sent from my XT1528 |

Yes, this is very wrong. I have bought several from them, but thankfully, I always download and back up as soon as I purchase a book, no matter from where I purchase it. This has saved me several times. (thinking fictionwise and booksonboard).

I'd be a lot more sorry if they announced this anywhere other than on their website, and if they were willing to give their customers enough time to do whatever needs to be done.

I guess those are automated tweets, but an hour ago to 4 hours ago they were still tweeting deals.
My money will only go to the amazon store, I just don't trust anyone else anymore. Thankfully I have learned to backup my stuff. |

Addendum: They are not sending that email to all their customers. Only to the ones who are subscribed to the newsletter.
I am no longer sad to see them go. Good riddance to anyone who puts this little thought and consideration into decisions that directly impact their customers to this extent. You will not be missed. |
