Kobo fixed the sleep cover problems in firmware 4.2.8110. I'm guessing old software + new hardware had unanticipated complications. It happens.

It's a matter of construction and program execution priority. Most slim fit covers put the lid directly onto the screen. If the sleep magnet is strong enough, it can see the cover closing if it's still half an inch away. Then the reader should just execute it's "sleep button pressed" routine ASAP to avoid problems with the lid touching the screen before the reader is off. It could go wrong if you snap it shut really, really fast. With my Kindle, that doesn't matter, because the lid of the cover will never touch the screen. The screen's sunken in, and the cover covers the bezels as well, so there's at least a few mm of space between the lid and screen when closed. |

Currently using a Moko case, not sleep but nice and sturdy. I originally bought a ForeFront case but the quality was terrible. The reader didn't fit in it properly and the lid was flimsy and didn't stay shut. Not missing auto sleep.

I have a cheapo China cover in turquoise now. Works like a charm and is similar enough in colour to go with the shoes, if you don't look to closely And of course I'll receive the equally useless but shoe-matching exchange cover from Noreve eventually.

it works! As for the Noreve cover they are sending you - put it on the floor and use it as a mat for your shoes

My understanding (right or wrong) of what "capacitive touch" meant was that only skin touch (or special stylus) would trigger page turns. So experimenting with page turning comparing my Aura6" and KA1 I observe:

Gecko Covers is a Dutch company. It will be even easier for me if I decide to try one. Jackie_w: the original cover seems to have issues; the KA1 detects touches through the cover, according to this youtube video: Video |

Noreve was very good and sent me another case. I requested the other model because I did not want to give up automatic stand-by. Quality and perfect finishes.

What's the dent in the upper right of the lid? Does the reader stay on when you fold the lid completely flat against the back? |

That's good to know Then it'll probably fix similar problems with other covers as well. |

I wasn't offered a choice, they just stated they wanted to send me the other style. I wrote them I would not want another style cover, as I had purchased the magnet closure on purpose and would then prefer to get my money back. Now they tell me, they won't reimburse me and they won't send me another cover as I had said I don't want one. Which is clearly not what I said, but I don't get any answers to my emails now. So, they actually are no more than common theives, if you ask me. If only I knew where to file a complaint against them, I'd do so immediately.
