It was a tragic spectacle if anything; and I'm glad to say I coped manfully.

The neighbours three doors down have already told me how impressed they were by my vocabulary.

They'd have to get rid of the penny in order to have enough slots in cash registers. Then I wouldn't be able to add to my penny bank when I'm out walking.

I never did see why the C system was better than the F system for temperature. They both are totally arbitrary. Sure I know that the C system has a multiple of 10 between water freezing and boiling (at sea level on a standard atmospheric day) but those are both arbitrarily selected points. Why not a more regal system like the melting & boiling point of gold.

Also as Bob says the F system allows for finer measures since one degree F is smaller than one degree C.

I thought they still used rulers - though I do remember watching in a John Lewis store a sale assistant using a measuring reel that was clamped to the table and the cloth was pulled through a slot that both measured and cut the length required...

Would you pick the damn ice cube off the floor after you drop it.

Don't just leave it to melt into a little puddle.

I hate walking into the kitchen and stepping in your little ice cube remnant puddles! ARGH! It is the worst when I am just in stocking feet... then I have to go change my socks.

PICK UP THE ICE CUBE !!!

Please close that door!

If you open a cabinet to get something out of it, then close it when you are done. It's not hard... Its very simple. It drives me crazy to walk into a room and have the door under the sink open...

Just close it... you can use your knee for the love of Pete!

Maybe someone ELSE got it for you, the last time it was used, and put it back empty. See? Then you don't have to blame yourself!

That doesn't so much bother me. I don't like clutter. And closing the cabinet door is such a simple thing to do.

No one in my family closes cereal boxes right. They don't squish down the plastic and don't close the lid. Drives me CRAZY.

I get really heated about grocery carts though. WALK 20 FEET AND PUT IT IN THE CORRAL!!!

They do - but the rulers are in metric only

None of the John Lewises I've bought fabric in have had that device. Then again - it's been a while since I've been there, as I have a cheaper and better place as close...

I feel the same way about cabinets AND drawers that are left slightly open. Go ahead and close them the rest of the way, please.

And please don't lean against the wall or door frame when you are taking off your shoes, because it leaves a mark.
